1. Product Overview
The Intex 2500 GPH GCFI Pool Filter Pump with Timer (Model 633T) and Deluxe Maintenance Kit provides a comprehensive solution for maintaining clean and clear pool water. The filter pump features a powerful 2500 gallons per hour (GPH) flow rate and a built-in automatic timer for convenient daily cleaning cycles. For enhanced safety, the pump includes a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) which automatically shuts off the pump if an electrical current is exposed to water, preventing circuit overloads and ensuring user protection.
The accompanying Deluxe Maintenance Kit includes essential tools to keep your pool pristine. This kit is designed to work with your existing filter pump to effectively remove debris from the pool floor and surface.

2. Important Safety Information
Read and understand all instructions before installing and using this product. Failure to follow these instructions can result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
- Electrical Safety: Always connect the pump to a grounded outlet protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). Do not bypass or disable the GFCI. If the GFCI trips, do not use the pump until the cause of the trip has been identified and corrected.
- Water and Electricity: Never operate the pump when people are in the pool. Ensure all electrical connections are dry and secure.
- Placement: Position the pump on a firm, level surface, away from the edge of the pool to prevent accidental tipping or submersion.
- Maintenance: Disconnect the pump from the power source before performing any maintenance, cleaning, or servicing.
- Children: Keep children away from the pump and electrical connections. This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Damage: Do not operate the pump if the power cord or plug is damaged. Contact qualified service personnel for repair.
3. Setup and Installation
3.1 Filter Pump Installation
- Choose Location: Place the filter pump on a stable, level surface at least 8 feet (2.4 meters) from the pool wall. Ensure the location is dry and protected from direct sunlight and extreme weather.
- Connect Hoses:
- Connect one end of the filter pump hose to the lower pool connection (inlet) and the other end to the pump's inlet port.
- Connect the second hose from the pump's outlet port to the upper pool connection (return).
- Secure all hose connections with clamps to prevent leaks.
- Fill Pool: Ensure the pool is filled with water to the recommended level, covering both inlet and outlet connections.
- Prime Pump: Open the air release valve on top of the filter housing to allow air to escape. Once water flows steadily from the valve, close it.
- Electrical Connection: Plug the GFCI power cord into a properly grounded electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords.
This pump is designed for Intex 24' and 18' Easy Set pools, Frame Set pools, Ellipse Oval pools, Rectangular Frame pools, and similar sized swimming pools from other manufacturers.
3.2 Deluxe Maintenance Kit Assembly
- Assemble Telescoping Pole: Extend the telescoping pole to the desired length and secure it.
- Attach Tools:
- For the vacuum, attach the vacuum head to the telescoping pole. Connect the vacuum hose to the vacuum head and the other end to the pump's suction side (usually through the skimmer or a dedicated vacuum port).
- For the skimmer net or leaf rake, simply attach the desired tool to the end of the telescoping pole.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Filter Pump Operation
- GFCI Test: Before each use, press the "TEST" button on the GFCI plug. The "RESET" button should pop out. Press "RESET" to resume operation. If it does not reset, do not use the pump and consult the troubleshooting section.
- Power On/Off: Use the power switch on the pump to turn it on or off.
- Setting the Timer: The built-in automatic timer allows you to set a daily cleaning cycle. Refer to the specific timer instructions provided in the pump's dedicated manual for detailed programming steps. Typically, you will set the desired operating hours, and the pump will run daily for that duration.
- Run Time: For optimal water clarity, run the filter pump for at least 4-6 hours per day, or longer depending on pool size, usage, and water conditions.
4.2 Using the Deluxe Maintenance Kit
- Vacuuming: With the pump running, slowly move the vacuum head across the pool floor to collect debris. The pump's suction will draw the debris into the filter.
- Skimming: Use the skimmer net to remove floating debris such as leaves, insects, and other particles from the water surface.
- Leaf Raking: The leaf rake is effective for larger debris on the surface or bottom of the pool.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and efficient operation of your filter pump and maintenance kit.
5.1 Filter Pump Maintenance
- Clean/Replace Filter Cartridge:
- Frequency: Check the filter cartridge weekly, or more often during heavy use.
- Procedure: Disconnect the pump from power. Close the plunger valves (if applicable) or use stoppers to prevent water flow from the pool. Unscrew the filter housing lid and remove the cartridge. Rinse the cartridge thoroughly with a garden hose. If the cartridge remains dirty or damaged, replace it with a new Intex Type A filter cartridge.
- Reassembly: Place the clean/new cartridge back into the housing, secure the lid, open valves, and reconnect power.
- Pump Housing Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the exterior of the pump housing with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust.
- Hose Inspection: Regularly inspect hoses for cracks, kinks, or leaks. Replace damaged hoses immediately.
5.2 Maintenance Kit Cleaning
- Rinse all components of the maintenance kit (vacuum head, skimmer net, leaf rake, hoses) with fresh water after each use to remove chlorine and debris.
- Store tools in a dry, shaded area when not in use to prevent sun damage and prolong their lifespan.
5.3 Winterization (Off-Season Storage)
- Disconnect the pump from power and detach all hoses.
- Drain all water from the pump and hoses.
- Remove and discard the filter cartridge.
- Store the pump and all kit components in a dry, frost-free location.
