3. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your BENFEI HDMI to VGA Adapter:

  1. Connect HDMI Source: Plug the HDMI connector from your source device (e.g., laptop, TV stick, gaming console) into the HDMI input port on the BENFEI adapter.
  2. Connect VGA Display: Connect a VGA cable (not included) from your VGA display (e.g., monitor, projector) to the VGA output port on the BENFEI adapter. Secure the VGA cable with the screws if available.
  3. Connect Audio (Optional): If your VGA display has audio input, connect a 3.5mm audio cable (included) from the adapter's 3.5mm audio jack to your display's audio input.
  4. Connect Micro USB Power (Optional but Recommended): For optimal performance, especially with devices that require more power (like some TV sticks or gaming consoles), connect the included Micro USB cable from the adapter's Micro USB port to a USB power source (e.g., a USB port on your computer, a USB wall adapter).

  • Extended Mode: Extends your desktop across both the HDMI source screen and the VGA display, allowing for more workspace.

These modes can typically be configured in your operating system's display settings (e.g., Windows Display Settings, macOS System Preferences).

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Signal on VGA Display:
    • Ensure all cables (HDMI, VGA, Micro USB power) are securely connected.
    • Verify that the HDMI source device is powered on and outputting a signal.
    • Try connecting the Micro USB power cable to the adapter, as some HDMI devices may not provide sufficient power.
    • Check your source device's display settings to ensure it is configured to output to an external display.
  • Poor Picture Quality or Flickering:
    • Ensure you are using a high-quality HDMI 1.4 Version cable within 26ft.
    • Connect the Micro USB power cable to the adapter to stabilize the signal.
    • Adjust the resolution settings on your HDMI source device to match the optimal resolution of your VGA display (up to 1920x1080@60Hz).
  • No Audio Output:
    • Confirm the 3.5mm audio cable is correctly connected from the adapter to your VGA display's audio input.
