Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Blindsmart Smart Blinds Motor ZM35E-110V. This motor is designed to convert existing roller blinds into motorized smart blinds, compatible with various tube diameters and smart home systems.

Setup and Installation

1. Measure Tube Diameter

Before installation, measure the internal diameter of your roller shade tube. This motor is compatible with 40mm, 50mm, and 55mm aluminum tubes. Select the appropriate drive adapter.

2. Assemble Motor System

Refer to the diagram below for the assembly of the motor system components into your roller shade.

  1. Attach the appropriate drive adapter and crown to the tubular motor.
  2. Insert the motor assembly into the roller shade tube.
  3. Secure the mounting brackets to the window frame or wall.
  4. Mount the roller shade assembly with the motor onto the brackets.
  5. Connect the motor to the power supply (110V or 230V).

3. Initial Limit Setting

After installation, set the upper and lower limits for the blind's movement. Consult the specific instructions provided with your remote control or the Tuya/Smart Life app for detailed steps on setting these limits.

Operating Instructions

1. APP Control (Tuya / Smart Life App)

The motor features a built-in Wi-Fi module, allowing control via the Tuya or Smart Life application on your mobile phone.

  1. Download and install the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app from your device's app store.
  2. Register or log in to your account.
  3. Add the Blindsmart Smart Blinds Motor as a new device within the app. Follow the in-app pairing instructions.
  4. Once paired, you can control the blinds (open, close, stop) and set schedules for automatic operation.

2. Voice Control (Alexa / Google Assistant)

The motor is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice commands.

  1. Ensure your Blindsmart motor is successfully paired with the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.
  2. Link your Tuya Smart/Smart Life account to your Alexa or Google Home app.
  3. Discover new devices through your smart assistant app.
  4. Use voice commands such as:
    • "Alexa, turn on the shade."
    • "Google, open the blinds."
    • "Hey Google, close the living room shade."

3. RF Remote Control

Use the provided RF remote control for direct operation of your blinds.

  1. Insert 2 AAA batteries into the remote control (not included).
  2. Follow the pairing instructions in the remote's specific manual (if provided) or the motor's quick start guide to link it with the motor.
  3. Use the Up, Down, and Stop buttons to control the blind's movement.

Maintenance

  • Keep the motor and surrounding area clean and free from dust.
  • Do not expose the motor to excessive moisture or direct water.
  • Periodically check mounting hardware for tightness.
  • If the remote control stops responding, check and replace batteries.

Troubleshooting

Motor Not Responding

  • Check power connection: Ensure the motor is properly plugged into a working power outlet.
  • Check remote batteries: Replace AAA batteries in the remote control.
  • Re-pair device: Attempt to re-pair the motor with the remote or the smart app.

Blinds Not Moving to Correct Limits

  • Re-set limits: Follow the instructions in the operating section or app to re-set the upper and lower travel limits.

Voice Control Not Working

  • Verify app connection: Ensure the motor is connected and controllable via the Tuya/Smart Life app.
  • Check smart assistant link: Confirm that your Tuya/Smart Life account is correctly linked to Alexa or Google Home.
  • Re-discover devices: Ask your smart assistant to "discover devices."
