1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Etekcity EKS-C302-KUS Digital Food Kitchen Scale. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your new scale. Please read all instructions before use and retain this manual for future reference.

2. Setup

Battery Installation:

The Etekcity EKS-C302-KUS scale comes with 3 AAA 1.5V DC batteries pre-installed. If you need to replace them:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 3 new AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Warning: Do not mix new and used batteries to power the device.

Placement:

Place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface to ensure accurate measurements. Avoid soft or uneven surfaces.

3. Operating Instructions

Power On/Off:

  • To turn on: Press the Z/T ON/OFF button. The display will show "18888" then "0 g" (or the last used unit).
  • To turn off: Press and hold the Z/T ON/OFF button for 2 seconds. The scale also features an automatic shut-off after 3 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.

Unit Conversion:

To change the unit of measurement (g, oz, lb:oz, fl'oz (water/milk), mL (water/milk)), press the UNIT button. The display will cycle through the available units.

Tare Function (Zero Out Weight):

The tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container or previously added ingredients, so you can measure subsequent items accurately.

  1. Place an empty container on the scale. The display will show its weight.
  2. Press the Z/T ON/OFF button. The display will reset to "0 g" (or the current unit).
  3. Add the item you wish to weigh into the container. The display will show only the weight of the added item.

Accurate Weighing:

The scale measures in precise 1-gram increments, with a minimum measurement of 2 grams and a maximum capacity of 5000 grams (11 lbs).

4. Maintenance

Cleaning:

The scale features a sleek acrylic surface, making it easy to clean. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the scale in water or use abrasive cleaners.

5. Troubleshooting

Common Issues:

  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the scale is placed on a hard, flat, and stable surface. Check battery levels.
  • Display Not Turning On: Verify that the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
  • Scale Not Responding: Remove and reinsert batteries to perform a soft reset.
