5. Setup Guide

5.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge your iDiskk External Hard Drive. Connect the device to a power source using the provided Type-C cable. The LED indicators on the device will show the charging progress.

5.2 Connecting to Devices

1. For iPhone/iPad (Lightning Port): Use the provided MFi Charging Cable (USB to Lightning). Plug the Lightning end into your iPhone/iPad and the USB end into the iDiskk's USB-A port.
2. For Android Phones/Newer iPhones/iPad (USB-C Port): Use the provided Type-C Cable (USB to Type-C). Plug the Type-C end into your device and the USB end into the iDiskk's USB-A port. Alternatively, if your device and the iDiskk both have USB-C ports, use a USB-C to USB-C cable (not included, but compatible).
3. For Mac/PC: Connect the iDiskk to your computer using the appropriate USB cable (USB-A or USB-C, depending on your computer's ports). The device will be recognized as an external drive.

5.3 App Installation (for iOS/Android)

For full functionality, especially for one-key backup and file management on iOS and Android devices, download the "iDiskk Pro" app from the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android). The app will typically prompt you to install it upon first connection to an iPhone/iPad.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Data Transfer

• From Phone/Tablet to iDiskk: Open the "iDiskk Pro" app. Navigate to the files you wish to transfer (e.g., photos, videos). Select the files and choose the option to transfer or back up to the iDiskk.
• From iDiskk to Phone/Tablet: Within the "iDiskk Pro" app, browse the files stored on the iDiskk. Select the desired files and choose to copy or move them to your device's internal storage.
• From/To Mac/PC: Once connected to your computer, the iDiskk will appear as a removable drive. You can drag and drop files to and from the iDiskk just like any other external hard drive.

6.2 One-Key Backup

The "iDiskk Pro" app offers a convenient one-key backup feature for your camera roll. Connect your iPhone/iPad to the iDiskk, open the app, and select the "One-Key Backup" option. The app will automatically back up all photos and videos from your camera roll. Subsequent backups will only transfer newly added files, preventing duplicates.

6.3 Using as a Power Bank

The iDiskk has a built-in 10000mAh power bank. Simply connect your smartphone or tablet to the iDiskk's USB-A port using your device's charging cable. The iDiskk will begin charging your device. The LED indicators will show the remaining battery level of the iDiskk.

6.4 Direct Media Playback

You can play movies and other media files directly from the iDiskk without transferring them to your device. Connect the iDiskk to your phone/tablet, open the "iDiskk Pro" app, navigate to the media file on the iDiskk, and tap to play. This is ideal for saving space on your device during travel.

7. Maintenance

• Keep the device in a dry environment and avoid exposure to extreme temperatures.
• Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
• Avoid dropping or subjecting the device to strong impacts.
• Regularly back up important data to another storage medium to prevent data loss.

8. Troubleshooting

• Device not recognized:
  • Ensure the cable is securely connected to both the iDiskk and your device.
  • Try a different USB port on your computer or a different cable.
  • Restart your device/computer.
  • For phones/tablets, ensure the "iDiskk Pro" app is installed and updated.
• Slow transfer speeds:
  • Ensure you are using the correct cable for your device and the iDiskk.
  • Close other applications running in the background on your device/computer.
  • Large file transfers may naturally take longer.
• Device not charging:
  • Check if the iDiskk itself has sufficient charge.
  • Ensure the charging cable is properly connected to the iDiskk and the device you are trying to charge.
  • Try a different charging cable.
