1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the plplaaoo F450 Multi Rotor Airframe. This instruction manual provides essential information for the proper assembly, setup, and maintenance of your drone frame. The F450 frame is designed for 4-axle FPV race drones, offering a flexible and stable platform for high-speed and forceful maneuvers. Its sturdy construction ensures good resistance to damage, particularly during hard landings.
2. Safety Information
Please read and understand all safety instructions before assembling and operating your drone. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury or damage to the product.
- This product is a drone frame and requires additional electronic components (motors, ESCs, flight controller, battery, etc.) for operation. Ensure all components are compatible and installed correctly.
- Exercise caution when soldering. Use appropriate safety gear and ensure proper ventilation.
- Always disconnect the battery before performing any maintenance or adjustments to the drone.
- Operate drones responsibly and in accordance with local laws and regulations.
- Keep small parts out of reach of children to prevent choking hazards.
3. Package Contents
Verify that all items listed below are included in your package:
- 1 x Drone Frame Kit (includes main board, top board, 4 arms, and landing skid gear)
- Screws for assembly
Note: Additional components such as motors, ESCs, flight controller, propellers, and battery are sold separately and are required for a complete operational drone.
4. Setup and Assembly
Follow these steps to assemble your plplaaoo F450 drone frame:
4.1 Identify Components
Familiarize yourself with the main components of the frame kit: the central main board (bottom plate), the top board, and the four arms (two black, two white for orientation).

Image 4.1.1: The four arms of the F450 frame, featuring two black and two white arms for clear orientation during flight. Each arm includes an integrated landing skid gear.

Image 4.1.2: Detail of the integrated PCB board and a single arm. The main and top boards are PCB boards, allowing direct soldering of ESCs. The arms are constructed from ultra-strong PA66+30GF material for durability.
4.2 Attaching the Arms
- Position the main board (bottom plate) on a flat surface.
- Attach the four arms to the main board using the provided screws. Ensure the colored arms are positioned correctly for orientation (e.g., two white arms at the front, two black arms at the rear, or as per your preference for flight direction). The X-structure design provides flexibility and stability.
- Securely tighten all screws. Do not overtighten.

4.3 Installing Electronic Components (Not Included)
Once the frame is assembled, you will need to install your electronic components. The main and top boards are PCB boards, which allow you to solder Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs) directly to them. This helps in creating a neat and organized wiring setup.
- Motors: Compatible with 2212-2216 (Stator Size) motors. Mount motors to the ends of the arms using the motor mounting holes (16 x 19mm pitch).
- ESCs: Compatible with 15-30A ESCs. Solder ESCs to the PCB boards as required.
- Flight Controller: Mount your chosen flight controller to the central area of the frame.
- Propellers: Compatible with 10 x 4.5 / 4.7inch propellers.
- Battery: Compatible with 3S / 11.1V / 1500-2600mAh batteries. Ensure the battery is securely mounted.
Ensure all wiring is tidy and secure to prevent interference or damage during flight. The frame is designed to fit your FPV drone components and tuck away all wires neatly.

5. Operating Principles (Frame)
As the F450 is a drone frame, its operation is dependent on the electronic components you install. However, the frame's design contributes significantly to the drone's flight characteristics:
- Stability: The X-structure provides inherent stability, crucial for both beginners and experienced pilots.
- Orientation: The colored arms (black and white) are specifically designed to help maintain visual orientation during flight, especially important for FPV racing.
- Durability: The sturdy PA66+30GF material of the arms offers good resistance to impacts, which is beneficial during aggressive flying or unexpected landings.
- Weight Distribution: Proper placement of components (battery, flight controller, FPV gear) within the frame is essential for balanced flight.
Refer to the instruction manuals of your flight controller, ESCs, and other electronic components for detailed operating procedures of the complete drone system.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance of your drone frame will ensure its longevity and safe operation:
- Inspect for Damage: After each flight, visually inspect the frame arms, main board, and top board for any cracks, bends, or stress marks. Pay close attention to the landing skid gear.
- Check Screws: Ensure all screws holding the arms and boards together are tight. Vibrations during flight can sometimes loosen fasteners.
- Clean the Frame: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean any dust, dirt, or debris from the frame. Avoid using harsh chemicals that could damage the plastic or PCB material.
- Wiring Inspection: Periodically check all soldered connections on the PCB boards and ensure wires are not frayed or pinched.
- Arm Replacement: If an arm is significantly damaged, it should be replaced immediately to maintain flight integrity. Individual arms can often be sourced as spare parts.
7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues related to the drone frame. For issues related to electronic components, refer to their respective manuals.
- Issue: Frame feels wobbly or unstable after assembly.
Solution: Check all screws connecting the arms to the main board and the top board. Ensure they are securely tightened. Inspect arms for any hidden cracks or deformities that might affect structural integrity. - Issue: Difficulty in tucking away wires neatly.
Solution: The frame is designed with space for wiring. Plan your component placement and wire routing carefully before final assembly. Use zip ties or electrical tape to bundle and secure wires. - Issue: Drone crashes frequently, leading to frame damage.
Solution: While the frame is sturdy, repeated hard crashes can cause damage. Review your flying technique and consider practicing in a simulator. Inspect the frame for damage after each crash and replace any compromised parts. - Issue: Motors do not align perfectly on the arms.
Solution: Ensure you are using compatible motors (2212-2216 stator size) and that the motor mounting holes (16x19mm pitch) on your motors match the frame's arms. Do not force motors into place.
