4. Setup Instructions
4.1. Driver Installation
The BENFEI Universal Docking Station requires a driver installation for full functionality. This is a one-time process.
- Do not connect the docking station to your computer yet.
- Insert the provided Installation Driver CD into your computer's CD drive. If your computer does not have a CD drive, download the latest driver from the official BENFEI website. The website address is provided in the user manual and on the base of the docking station.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.
- Restart your computer after the driver installation is complete.
4.2. Hardware Connection
- Connect the AC Power Adapter to the docking station's DC 5V/4A Power Input port and then plug it into a power outlet. The docking station requires external power to operate.
- Connect the USB-A end of the provided USB cable (USB-A to USB-B) to your laptop's USB 3.0 port. If your laptop only has USB-C ports, use the included USB-A to USB-C adapter. Connect the USB-B end of the cable to the To Host port on the docking station.
- Connect your external monitors to the HDMI and/or VGA ports on the docking station using appropriate cables.
- Connect any USB peripherals (keyboard, mouse, external drives) to the available USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 ports.
- For wired internet access, connect an Ethernet cable from your router/modem to the Gigabit Ethernet port on the docking station.

5.1. Display Configuration
After connecting your monitors, you can configure your display settings through your operating system.
- Windows: Right-click on your desktop, select "Display settings," and arrange your monitors. You can choose between "Duplicate these displays" (Mirror Mode) or "Extend these displays" (Extended Mode).
- macOS: Go to "System Preferences" > "Displays" > "Arrangement" to configure your monitors. You can enable or disable "Mirror Displays" for mirroring or extending your desktop.
