Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient operation of your Necchi HP04 Electronic Sewing Machine. The Necchi HP04 is an electronic sewing machine featuring a robust die-cast aluminum interior, a durable ABS casing, and an intuitive LCD display. It offers 40 stitch patterns, including automatic buttonholes, designed for various sewing projects. Important Safety Instructions

Setup
1. Unpacking
Carefully remove the machine from its packaging. Retain all packaging materials for future transport or storage. Ensure all accessories listed in the packing list are present.
2. Power Connection
Place the machine on a stable, flat surface. Connect the power cord to the machine's power input and then to a suitable electrical outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the 'OFF' position before connecting.
3. Bobbin Winding
To wind the bobbin, place an empty bobbin onto the bobbin winder spindle. Guide the thread from the spool pin through the thread guide and around the bobbin winding tension disc. Start the machine, and the bobbin will wind automatically. Stop when the bobbin is full.

4. Threading the Upper Thread
Raise the presser foot and the needle to its highest position. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin. Guide the thread through the upper thread guides, down through the tension discs, and up to the take-up lever. Finally, thread it down through the needle bar thread guide and through the eye of the needle from front to back.

5. Attaching the Needle
Ensure the flat side of the needle faces the back of the machine. Loosen the needle clamp screw, insert the new needle as far up as it will go, and then tighten the screw securely.
6. Presser Foot Installation
To attach a presser foot, align the pin on the presser foot with the groove on the presser foot holder. Lower the presser foot lever, and the foot will snap into place. To remove, press the release lever at the back of the presser foot holder.
Operating Instructions
1. Selecting Stitches
The Necchi HP04 offers 40 different stitch patterns. Use the selection buttons next to the LCD display to cycle through the available stitches. The selected stitch number and recommended settings will be shown on the LCD screen.

2. Adjusting Stitch Length and Width
The machine automatically sets optimal stitch length and width for each selected pattern. However, you can adjust these settings using the dedicated buttons near the LCD display to fine-tune your stitches according to your fabric and project needs. The maximum stitch length is 4.5 mm and maximum stitch width is 7 mm.
3. Starting to Sew
Place your fabric under the presser foot. Lower the presser foot. Gently press the foot pedal or use the start/stop button to begin sewing. Guide the fabric smoothly without forcing it.
4. Automatic Needle Threader
To use the automatic needle threader, ensure the needle is in its highest position. Lower the threader mechanism, hook the thread, and release. The needle will be threaded automatically.
5. Buttonhole Sewing
The Necchi HP04 features 3 styles of automatic buttonholes. Attach the buttonhole presser foot. Place the button you wish to match into the buttonhole foot's gauge. Select the desired buttonhole stitch. The machine will automatically sew the buttonhole to the correct size.

6. Reverse Sewing
Press and hold the reverse stitch button to sew in reverse. This is useful for securing the beginning and end of seams.
7. Free Arm Sewing
Remove the accessory box to convert the flatbed into a free arm. This feature is ideal for sewing cylindrical items like cuffs, sleeves, and pant hems.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Machine
Regularly clean lint and dust from the bobbin case area and feed dogs using the brush provided. Ensure the machine is unplugged before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or harsh chemicals.
2. Changing the Needle
Change the needle frequently, especially when sewing different types of fabric or if the needle becomes dull or bent. A dull needle can cause skipped stitches or fabric damage. Refer to the 'Attaching the Needle' section for instructions.
