4.2. Initial Power On and Settings
- Turn on your vehicle's ignition. The dash camera should power on automatically.
- Follow the on-screen prompts on the 2-inch LCD to set the date, time, and other initial preferences.
- Ensure the GPS signal is acquired for accurate speed and location data.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Powering On/Off
The MD-7200 is designed to power on automatically when your vehicle's ignition is turned on and power off when the ignition is turned off. You can also manually power the unit on or off using the switch located on the side of the front camera (refer to Figure 4.2).
5.2. Recording Modes
- Continuous Recording: The camera automatically begins recording when powered on. Footage is saved in segments and loops, overwriting the oldest files when the memory card is full.
- Event Recording: In the event of a sudden impact or collision, the G-sensor will trigger event recording, saving the current footage to a protected folder that will not be overwritten.
- ECO Mode (Parking Surveillance): When "ECO Mode" is activated and the vehicle is parked, the M7 dash camera utilizes radar detection to sense motion in front of the vehicle. This significantly reduces power consumption (up to 90%) while keeping the front camera active for security. Consult the on-screen menu for activating and configuring ECO Mode.
5.3. Video Playback and Management
You can review recorded videos directly on the 2-inch LCD screen of the front camera. Navigate through the menu using the physical buttons to access playback options.

For detailed review or to save footage, remove the Micro-SD card from the camera and connect it to a PC or laptop using a card reader. The video files can then be accessed and managed like any other media files.
5.4. GPS and Speed Detection
The built-in GPS in the quick-release mount records your vehicle's location and speed data along with the video footage. This information can be viewed during playback using compatible software on your computer.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning the Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the camera lenses. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Memory Card Management: Periodically format the Micro-SD card (at least once a month) within the camera's settings to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up any important footage before formatting.
- Firmware Updates: Check the Momento official website for any available firmware updates. Follow the instructions provided with the update carefully.
- Temperature Considerations: Avoid exposing the camera to extreme temperatures for prolonged periods.
