Setup

1. Installing Switches and Keycaps

  1. Align the pins of your desired 3-pin or 5-pin mechanical switch with the hot-swappable socket on the PCB.
  2. Gently push the switch straight down until it clicks into place. Ensure the pins are not bent.
  3. Repeat for all desired keys.
  4. Once all switches are installed, carefully place your keycaps onto the switches, pressing down firmly until they are seated.

2. Connecting the Keyboard

The FEKER JJK84 T1 supports three connection modes:

  • Wired Mode: Connect the provided Type-C cable to the keyboard's Type-C port and the other end to your computer's USB port. The keyboard will automatically switch to wired mode.
  • 2.4GHz Wireless Mode: Insert the 2.4G receiver into a USB port on your computer. Ensure the mode switch on the keyboard (usually on the back or side) is set to 2.4G wireless mode. The keyboard should connect automatically.
  • Bluetooth Mode: Ensure the mode switch on the keyboard is set to Bluetooth mode. On your device (computer, tablet, smartphone), search for Bluetooth devices and select "FEKER JJK84 T1" (or similar name) to pair. You may need to press a specific key combination on the keyboard (refer to the quick start guide for specific pairing instructions, e.g., Fn + 1/2/3 for different Bluetooth profiles) to enter pairing mode.

3. Charging the Battery

The keyboard is equipped with a 200mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery. Connect the Type-C cable to the keyboard and a USB power source (computer USB port or a 5V USB charger). The charging indicator will show the charging status and turn off when fully charged.

Operating Instructions

Switching Connection Modes

Use the physical switch located on the keyboard (typically on the top edge or underside) to toggle between Wired, 2.4GHz, and Bluetooth modes. Refer to the quick start guide for the exact location and labels.

Adjusting Keyboard Height

The keyboard features two-stage adjustable feet on its underside. Flip out the feet to achieve your preferred typing angle. There are three possible heights/angles: flat, first stage, and second stage.

Using Function Layer (Fn Key)

The Fn key (Function key) allows access to secondary functions printed on certain keycaps. Hold down the Fn key and press the desired key to activate its secondary function (e.g., media controls, backlight adjustments, or Bluetooth profile switching).

Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the keyboard surface. For deeper cleaning, remove keycaps and use compressed air to clear dust and debris from between switches.
  • Keycap and Switch Removal: Use a keycap puller and switch puller (if included or purchased separately) to safely remove keycaps and switches. Avoid using excessive force to prevent damage.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the keyboard in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting

  • Keyboard not responding: Ensure the cable is securely connected in wired mode, or the 2.4G receiver is properly inserted and the keyboard is in the correct wireless mode. For Bluetooth, ensure it's paired and within range. Check battery level.
  • Keys not registering: Ensure switches are fully seated in their sockets. If a specific switch is faulty, try replacing it with a known working switch.
  • Wireless connectivity issues: Try moving the keyboard closer to the receiver/device. Ensure there are no strong interferences (e.g., other wireless devices). Re-pair the Bluetooth connection or re-insert the 2.4G receiver.
  • Battery not charging: Verify the Type-C cable is not damaged and the power source is functional.
  • Specific key combinations not working (e.g., Ctrl+Shift+N): While rare, some keyboard kits might have firmware limitations. Ensure your firmware is up to date if an official update is available from EPOMAKER.
