1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your GEEKOM IT8 Mini PC. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper operation and to prevent damage.

The GEEKOM IT8 is a compact desktop computer featuring an Intel Core i5-8259U processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, and a 256GB SSD, pre-installed with Windows 11 Pro. It supports 4K display output and offers versatile connectivity options.

3. Setup Guide

3.1 Connecting Peripherals

1. Connect Display: Connect your monitor or TV to the Mini PC using the provided HDMI cable or a Mini DisplayPort cable (not included). The Mini PC supports 4K resolution.
2. Connect Keyboard and Mouse: Plug your USB keyboard and mouse into the available USB ports.
3. Connect Network: For wired internet, connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port. For wireless internet, the device supports 2.4G/5.0G WiFi.
4. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the Mini PC's power inlet, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.

3.2 Powering On and Initial Setup

1. Press the power button located on the front of the Mini PC. The power indicator light will illuminate.
2. The Mini PC will boot into Windows 11 Pro. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial Windows setup, including language selection, network connection, and user account creation.

3.3 VESA Mount Installation

The included VESA mount allows you to attach the Mini PC to the back of a compatible monitor or TV, saving desk space.

1. Attach the VESA bracket to the back of your monitor using the provided screws. Ensure the bracket is securely fastened.
2. Slide the GEEKOM IT8 Mini PC onto the VESA bracket until it clicks into place.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Operation

• Power On: Press the power button.
• Shut Down: Click the Start button in Windows, then select Power > Shut down.
• Restart: Click the Start button in Windows, then select Power > Restart.
• Sleep: Click the Start button in Windows, then select Power > Sleep.

4.2 Connectivity

• Wi-Fi: To connect to a wireless network, click the Wi-Fi icon in the taskbar, select your network, and enter the password.
• Bluetooth: The Mini PC supports Bluetooth 4.2 for connecting wireless peripherals like headphones or speakers. Enable Bluetooth in Windows settings to pair devices.
• USB Ports: Use the USB 3.2 and USB-C ports for connecting external drives, USB flash drives, and other USB devices.
• SD Card Reader: Insert an SD card into the dedicated slot to access media files.

4.3 Multi-Tasking and Display

The GEEKOM IT8 Mini PC is designed for efficient multi-tasking, supporting various applications simultaneously. It comes with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed, offering a robust operating environment.

The Mini PC supports 4K resolution output, allowing for high-definition visual experiences on compatible displays. You can connect multiple monitors using the HDMI and Mini DP ports for an extended desktop workspace.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To maintain optimal performance and appearance, regularly clean your Mini PC:

• Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces.
• For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
• Avoid spraying liquids directly onto the device.
• Use compressed air to gently clear dust from vents and ports.

5.2 Software Updates

Keep your Windows 11 Pro operating system updated to ensure security and performance. Go to Settings > Windows Update to check for and install available updates.

Periodically check the official GEEKOM website for updated drivers or firmware for your IT8 Mini PC.

5.3 Storage and Memory Expansion

The GEEKOM IT8 Mini PC supports memory and storage upgrades. You can expand the RAM up to 32GB and add a 2.5-inch HDD/SSD for additional storage (up to 1TB).

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your GEEKOM IT8 Mini PC, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

• No Power:
  • Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the Mini PC and a working power outlet.
  • Try a different power outlet.
• No Display:
  • Verify that the HDMI or Mini DP cable is securely connected to both the Mini PC and the monitor.
  • Ensure the monitor is powered on and set to the correct input source.
  • Try a different display cable or monitor if available.
• No Internet Connection (Wi-Fi/Ethernet):
  • For Wi-Fi, check if the Wi-Fi adapter is enabled in Windows settings and if you are connected to the correct network with the right password.
  • For Ethernet, ensure the cable is properly connected to both the Mini PC and your router/modem. Check your router's status.
  • Restart your router/modem and the Mini PC.
• Slow Performance:
  • Close unnecessary applications running in the background.
  • Check for and install any pending Windows updates.
  • Ensure there is sufficient free space on your SSD.
  • Run a virus scan.
• Peripherals Not Recognized:
  • Try connecting the peripheral to a different USB port.
  • Restart the Mini PC.
  • Check the manufacturer's website for updated drivers for the peripheral.
