1. Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your ASONPAO GITR-3/OCDTR-3 garage door opener remote. This remote is designed for wide compatibility with Genie and Overhead Door garage door openers manufactured from 1997 to the present, utilizing Intellicode technology.
The remote features a durable ABS alloy casing, a long-lasting 240mAh lithium battery, and Auto-Seek Rolling Code technology for enhanced security. It offers a control range of up to 164 feet and includes a convenient clip for sun visor attachment.

2. Important Compatibility Information
This remote is compatible with Genie and Overhead Door garage door openers manufactured from 1997 to the present that use Intellicode technology. It is NOT compatible with openers that use DIP switches.
This remote replaces the following models:
- GITR-3, OCDTR-3
- GIT-1, ACSCTG Type1, ACSCTO Type 1, 1704
- ACSCTG Type 3, ACSCTO Type 3, OCDT-3
- GIC-3, OCDT3, GIC3, GIT-3, GIT3

3. Setup and Programming
Follow these steps to program your ASONPAO remote to your garage door opener. Ensure you are near your garage door opener unit during the programming process.
3.1. Putting Your Opener into Programming Mode
For New Openers:
- Press and hold the program button on your opener unit until the round LED turns blue. Then, release the button.
- The round LED will go out, and the long LED will begin flashing purple.
For Garage Door Openers and External Receivers Manufactured between 1995 to 2011:
- Press and release the "LEARN CODE" button once. The red LED will begin to flash.
Proceed to step 3.2 after your opener is in programming mode.
3.2. Programming the Remote to Your Opener
Note: Once in programming mode, you will have approximately 30 seconds to perform this step.
- Stand at least 5 feet away from the opener. This ensures proper communication between the remote and the opener.
- Slowly press and release the remote button of your choice two times. The opener LEDs will flash and go off, indicating successful programming.
- Press and release the same button a third time, and the garage door should operate. If the LEDs do not go off, or if the door does not operate, press the remote button several more times to achieve confirmation.

3.3. Erasing All Remotes (Lost or Stolen Remote)
For New Openers:
- Press and hold the program button until the round LED turns blue, then release.
- Press and hold the UP (^) Down (v) buttons at the same time until both LEDs flash blue and go OFF.
For Openers and External Receivers Manufactured between 1995 to 2011:
- To erase all remote devices from all other types of Genie® openers, press and hold the Learn Code button until the LED stops blinking.
Note: Clearing remote control memory from the power head will clear ALL programmed remotes and keypads. Your opener will no longer recognize any signal from any remote device, including a missing remote device.
4. Operating Instructions
Once programmed, your ASONPAO remote is ready for use. Simply press the programmed button to open or close your garage door. The remote offers a reliable control range of up to 164 feet (50 meters).
The compact design includes a sun visor clip for convenient access while driving. Attach the remote to your car's sun visor for easy operation.

5. Maintenance
5.1. Battery Replacement
Your remote is equipped with a long-lasting 240mAh lithium battery (CR2032). When the remote's range decreases significantly or the indicator light fails to illuminate, it may be time to replace the battery.
To replace the battery:
- Carefully open the remote casing.
- Remove the old CR2032 battery.
- Insert a new 3V CR2032 lithium battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the remote casing securely.
Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

6. Troubleshooting
- Remote not working after programming: Re-attempt the programming steps carefully, ensuring the opener is in programming mode and you are within range.
- Reduced operating range: Check the remote's battery and replace it if necessary (refer to Section 5.1). Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the garage door opener.
- Remote not compatible: Verify that your garage door opener is a Genie or Overhead Door Intellicode model manufactured from 1997 to present. This remote is not compatible with DIP switch openers.
- Indicator light not illuminating: Replace the battery.
