Battery Installation
The SwitchBot Lock requires two CR123A batteries, which are included. Install them according to the polarity markings inside the battery compartment.
Compatibility Check
Ensure your existing deadbolt is compatible with the SwitchBot Smart Lock. The device is compatible with Double Cylinder Deadbolts, Jimmy Proof Locks, and Mortise locks. It is not compatible with Lever Locks, Cylindrical Locks, Gerda Tytan, Rimlocks, or Multi-Point Locks.

Physical Installation
- Prepare the Door: Clean the area around your existing deadbolt's thumb-turn on the inside of your door using the provided wet wipe. Ensure the surface is dry.
- Attach Adapters: Select the appropriate thumb turn adapter and adjustable base adapter for your deadbolt. The lock comes with various adapters to fit different thumb-turn shapes and sizes.
- Mount the Lock: Apply the double-sided tape to the back of the SwitchBot Lock. Align the lock with your existing deadbolt's thumb-turn and firmly press it onto the door. Ensure the lock is level and securely attached.
- Install Magnet: Attach the provided magnet to the door frame, aligning it with the sensor on the SwitchBot Lock. This magnet helps the lock detect the door's open/closed status for features like auto-lock.

App Setup and Calibration
- Download App: Download the SwitchBot app from your device's app store.

Troubleshooting
Lock Not Responding to App Commands

- Battery Level: Check the battery status in the SwitchBot app. Low batteries can affect performance.
