Setup
Battery Charging and Installation
- Charging the Battery: Connect the charger to a standard power outlet. Insert the Lithium-Ion battery into the charger. The indicator light on the charger will show the charging status. A full charge typically takes approximately 1 hour.
- Installing the Battery: Align the battery pack with the battery port on the bottom of the drill handle. Slide the battery into place until it clicks securely.
- Removing the Battery: Press the battery release button (located on the sides of the battery pack) and slide the battery out of the tool.
Installing/Removing Drill Bits
- To Install: Rotate the chuck counter-clockwise until the jaws are open wide enough to insert the drill bit or screwdriver bit. Insert the bit fully and then rotate the chuck clockwise to tighten the jaws securely around the bit.
- To Remove: Rotate the chuck counter-clockwise to loosen the jaws and remove the bit.
Operating Instructions
Speed Selection
The drill has two mechanical speed settings, controlled by a slider switch on top of the tool:
- Position 1 (Low Speed): For high torque applications like driving screws or drilling large holes. (0-500 RPM)
- Position 2 (High Speed): For faster drilling in softer materials or smaller holes. (0-1800 RPM)
Always select the appropriate speed before starting your task.
Torque Adjustment
The torque collar allows you to set the amount of torque before the clutch disengages, preventing over-tightening or stripping screws. Rotate the collar to select one of the 21 torque settings. For drilling, set the collar to the drill icon for maximum torque.
Forward/Reverse Rotation
The forward/reverse selector switch is located above the trigger. Push it to the left for forward rotation (drilling/driving screws in) and to the right for reverse rotation (removing screws). Center position locks the trigger for safety.
Trigger Switch and Variable Speed
The trigger switch controls the ON/OFF function and the variable speed. Press the trigger to start the drill. The speed increases as you press the trigger further. Release the trigger to stop the drill.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your tool.
- Cleaning: Keep the ventilation openings clear and free of dust. Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the tool casing. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Chuck Maintenance: Periodically clean the chuck jaws to ensure proper gripping.
- Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not store fully discharged batteries for extended periods.
- Storage: When not in use, store the drill, batteries, and charger in the provided carrying case in a dry, secure location out of reach of children.
- Brushless Motor: The brushless motor requires no maintenance, eliminating the need for brush replacement.
