This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your KERUI Door Stop Alarm and Portable Door Lock. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure optimal performance and safety. This product is designed to provide additional security for inward-opening doors in various environments such as homes, apartments, and hotels.

Product Overview

The KERUI security kit includes two main components: a Door Stop Alarm and a Portable Door Lock. Both are designed for ease of use and portability, offering enhanced security.

Setup Instructions

1. Door Stop Alarm Setup

1. Battery Installation: The door stop alarm requires one 9V battery (not included). Open the battery compartment located on the underside of the alarm. Insert the 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.

2. Placement: Place the door stop alarm on the floor directly behind the inward-opening door you wish to secure. Ensure the rubber base is in contact with the floor and the metal plate is positioned to be pressed by the door.
3. Activate Alarm: Locate the ON/OFF switch on the side of the door stop alarm. Slide the switch to the "ON" position to activate the alarm function. When in the "OFF" position, the device functions as a standard door wedge.
4. Adjust Sensitivity: The alarm features a sensitivity switch with three levels: High (H), Medium (M), and Low (L). Adjust the switch according to the gap between the door and the floor, and the type of flooring. For smaller gaps or more sensitive detection, select 'H'.

5. Door Gap Compatibility: The door stop alarm is compatible with door gaps ranging from 10mm (0.39 inch) to 35mm (1.38 inch). It works effectively on various floor types including cement, wood, carpet, and tile.

2. Portable Door Lock Setup

1. Insert Lock Plate: Open the door slightly. Insert the metal plate of the portable door lock into the door strike plate (the metal plate on the door frame where the latch enters). Ensure the small or large pass-through hole aligns with the door bolt.

2. Close Door: Gently close the door until it is almost shut, with the metal plate still in position.
3. Install Red Handle: Insert the red handle of the portable door lock into the heart-shaped hole on the metal plate. Push it down firmly to secure the door.
4. Compatibility: This portable door lock is designed exclusively for inward-opening doors. It is not suitable for outward-opening doors, side-opening doors, or shutter doors.

Operating Instructions

Door Stop Alarm Operation

Once the door stop alarm is set up and switched to the "ON" position, it will emit a loud 120 dB alarm if pressure is applied to the metal plate, indicating an attempt to open the door. This sound is designed to alert occupants and deter intruders.

Portable Door Lock Operation

The portable door lock provides a physical barrier, preventing the door from being opened from the outside. Once installed, it adds an extra layer of security, making it difficult for unauthorized entry.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

When the alarm sound becomes weak or fails to activate, it is time to replace the 9V battery. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the Setup section.

Cleaning

Wipe the devices with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the product's finish or internal components.

Troubleshooting

• Alarm not sounding:
  • Ensure the 9V battery is correctly installed and not depleted.
  • Verify the ON/OFF switch is in the "ON" position.
  • Check that the door stop alarm is placed firmly under the door and the metal plate is making contact with the door.
  • Adjust the sensitivity level (H, M, L) to suit the door gap and flooring.
• Portable door lock not fitting:
  • Confirm the door opens inward. The lock is not compatible with outward-opening, side-opening, or shutter doors.
  • Ensure the correct hole on the metal plate is aligned with the door bolt. The lock has two different sized holes for compatibility.
• Alarm too sensitive or not sensitive enough:
  • Adjust the sensitivity switch (H, M, L) on the side of the door stop alarm. 'H' is for high sensitivity, 'L' for low.
