4. Operating Instructions

Automatic Recording

The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle starts. It will power off automatically when the vehicle is turned off.

Loop Recording

The dash cam continuously records video in short segments. When the MicroSD card is full, the oldest unlocked footage will be overwritten by new recordings. This ensures that recording never stops due to a full memory card.

G-Sensor (Emergency Recording)

The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. When an event is detected, the current video segment is automatically locked and saved to a protected folder on the MicroSD card, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording.

Parking Mode

If your vehicle's power plug provides continuous electricity, the parking mode will activate. In this mode, the dash cam will only start recording if a serious collision is detected while the vehicle is parked. This feature requires an additional fuse box cable for continuous power supply. (Search ASIN: B09PQ9KDYX to order the fuse box cable).

WiFi & FITCAMX App

The dash cam features built-in WiFi for connecting to the FITCAMX mobile application. This allows you to:

  • View live video feed from both cameras.
  • Download recorded footage to your smartphone.
  • Adjust dash cam settings.

Download the FITCAMX App from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

FITCAMX App Interface and WiFi Connectivity

Note: You only need to connect to the dash cam's WiFi when you want to access the app. The camera records automatically regardless of WiFi connection. Connecting to the dash cam's WiFi will temporarily disconnect your phone from CarPlay or Bluetooth for data transfer.

5. Maintenance

  • MicroSD Card: Regularly format the MicroSD card (at least once a month) to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Use a high-quality Class 10 or U3 MicroSD card. The dash cam supports up to 256GB.
  • Lens Cleaning: Keep the camera lenses clean from dust and smudges using a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the lens.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the FITCAMX official website or app periodically for firmware updates to ensure your dash cam has the latest features and bug fixes.
  • Temperature: The dash cam is designed to operate within a temperature range of -20°C to 85°C (-4°F to 185°F). It is normal for the device to feel warm during operation, especially in direct sunlight.

6. Troubleshooting

Q: Do I need to turn on the dash cam every time? Is WiFi required for recording?
A: No. The dash cam automatically turns on/off with your car engine. You do not need to connect to WiFi manually after the initial setup; the camera records automatically when the car starts.
Q: Can I view video after the car is off?
A: You must download the video to your phone via the app before turning off the engine. The built-in WiFi has a limited range and will not be accessible once the car is off and the camera loses power.
Q: What if the phone can't connect to WiFi? Is the FITCAMX APP safe and stable?
A: Ensure the engine is on and the dash cam is working when attempting to connect to WiFi. If connection issues persist, provide screenshots of your WiFi and FITCAMX app pages for support. The current FITCAMX app is developed in-house for high stability and ease of use, with no ads.
Q: Why doesn't my car have parking monitoring? Can I upgrade this function?
A: Parking mode functionality depends on whether your car's power plug provides continuous electricity, as determined by the car manufacturer. If continuous power is available, parking mode will function. To enable or upgrade this function, an extra harness cable is required. Note that parking mode does not record continuously 24/7; it only activates recording upon serious collision detection.
Q: Why does the dash cam get hot?
A: It is normal for the dash cam to generate heat. The FITCAMX camera is designed to operate normally within -20°C to 85°C (-4°F to 185°F). The compact space around the camera and its proximity to the windshield under direct sunlight can contribute to higher operating temperatures.
Q: I have the 4K single front version; can I add a rear camera separately?
A: No, you cannot. The single camera and dual camera versions have different PCB boards. If you wish to have a dual camera setup, you must replace the entire unit with a dual-channel version.
