8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit does not power on. | Power cord not properly connected. | Ensure the AC power cord is securely plugged into the unit and a working wall outlet. |
| Display is blank during power outage. | Battery backup only retains settings, does not power display. | This is normal operation. The display will return when AC power is restored. |
| Poor radio reception. | Antenna not extended or positioned correctly; interference. | Extend the telescoping antenna fully and adjust its direction. Try repositioning the unit. Avoid placing near other electronic devices. |
| Alarm does not sound. | Alarm not set or disabled; volume too low. | Verify alarm settings (AL1/AL2 indicators should be lit). Check alarm volume if set to radio. Ensure the unit has AC power. |
| NOAA alerts not received. | Not in NOAA mode; poor reception; no alerts issued. | Ensure the unit is in NOAA Weather Band mode. Extend and adjust the antenna. Confirm if any alerts are active in your area. |
