Setup
Battery Installation
The Tikka CORE headlamp features a HYBRID CONCEPT design, allowing it to operate with either the included CORE rechargeable battery (1250 mAh) or three standard AAA batteries (not included). To install batteries:
- Rotate the lamp body 180 degrees to access the battery compartment.
- Insert the CORE rechargeable battery or three AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment securely and rotate the lamp body back to its original position.
Headband Adjustment
The elastic headband is easily adjustable to ensure a comfortable and secure fit. Slide the adjusters together or apart while the headlamp is on your head to achieve the desired size. The headband is also reflective for increased visibility.
Operating Instructions
Power On/Off and Brightness Levels
The headlamp features a single button for all controls. Press the button to turn the lamp on. Subsequent presses will cycle through the three white lighting levels: low, medium, and max brightness. To turn off the headlamp, press the button once if the lamp has been on for 5 seconds or more. Otherwise, you must cycle through all three levels before it turns off.
Red Lighting Mode
To activate red light mode, press and hold the button for a couple of seconds when the lamp is on. One button press will cycle between continuous red light and strobe mode. The red light preserves night vision and prevents blinding others. The lamp will remain in red light mode even after turning it off until you switch it back to white light mode by holding the button again for a couple of seconds.
Lock Function
To prevent accidental activation during transport or storage, the headlamp has a lock function. Hold the button for four seconds when the lamp is turned off to lock it. To unlock, either hold the button for four seconds again or press it quickly four times.
Phosphorescent Reflector
The headlamp includes a phosphorescent reflector around the LED. This feature allows you to easily locate the headlamp in the dark, even when it is turned off, after it has been exposed to light.
Lantern Mode (Storage Pouch)
The included storage pouch can be used to diffuse the light, transforming your headlamp into a compact lantern for ambient lighting in a tent or camp area.
Burn Time Management
The headlamp features an energy gauge to help you monitor the remaining battery life:
- Green light: 100% - 50% battery remaining.
- Orange light: 50% - 10% battery remaining.
- Red light: Reserve mode (less than 10% battery remaining), offering just enough light to get through a dark situation.

Maintenance
Water Resistance
The Tikka CORE headlamp is rated IPX4, meaning it is weather-resistant and can withstand splashing water from any direction (rain/snow). It is not designed for submersion.
Cleaning and Storage
Clean the headlamp with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. Ensure it is completely dry before storing. Store the headlamp in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. If storing for extended periods, remove AAA batteries to prevent leakage, or ensure the CORE battery is partially charged.
Troubleshooting
- Light not turning on: Check if the battery is correctly installed and charged. Ensure the headlamp is not in lock mode.
- Dim light: The battery may be low. Recharge the CORE battery or replace the AAA batteries.
- Accidental activation: Utilize the lock function by holding the button for four seconds when the lamp is off.
