1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective installation, operation, and maintenance of your YUHANUS Electric Magnetic Lock. This device is designed for access control systems, utilizing an electromagnet and an armature plate to secure doors. When power is supplied, the electromagnet attracts the armature plate, keeping the door locked. The lock operates in NC (Normally Closed) mode, meaning it is locked when powered and unlocks upon power loss, functioning as a fail-safe mechanism.
It is suitable for various door types, including wooden, glass, metal, and fire-proof doors, as well as cabinets.
2. Product Components
The package typically includes the following items:

4. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance and security of the magnetic lock. Follow these guidelines carefully:
- Mounting the Lock Unit: Securely attach the electromagnetic lock unit to the door frame. Ensure it is aligned correctly with the intended position of the armature plate on the door.
- Mounting the Armature Plate: Attach the armature plate to the door. The plate should align perfectly with the electromagnet when the door is closed.
- Wiring: Connect the lock to a DC 12V power supply. Ensure correct polarity. The lock operates in NC mode, meaning it will lock when power is applied.
- Jumper Position: Before connecting power, check the jumper's position on the lock unit. This jumper determines the operating voltage (e.g., 12VDC or 24VDC). Ensure it is set to 12VDC for this model.

Figure 4.1: Installation diagram and critical cautions for mounting.
Important Cautions:
- Armature Plate Screw Tightness: Do not overtighten the screw that fixes the armature plate. It should be slightly loose to allow for proper elasticity of the rubber ring. This ensures the armature plate can adjust itself to the appropriate position, which is vital for strong magnetic suction.
- Surface Cleanliness: Keep the surfaces of both the electromagnetic lock and the armature plate clean. Any dust, glue, or adhesive residue on these surfaces will significantly reduce the holding force of the lock.
5. Operating Instructions
The YUHANUS Electric Magnetic Lock operates in NC (Normally Closed) mode:
- Locked State: When the lock receives continuous DC 12V power, the electromagnet activates, attracting the armature plate and keeping the door securely locked.
- Unlocked State (Fail-Safe): When the power supply to the lock is interrupted or turned off, the electromagnet deactivates, releasing the armature plate and allowing the door to open. This is a fail-safe design, ensuring egress in case of power failure.
Integrate the lock with your access control system (e.g., card reader, keypad, exit button) to control the power supply to the lock for desired access and egress.
6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and reliable performance of your magnetic lock, perform the following maintenance tasks:
- Regular Cleaning: Periodically clean the contact surfaces of both the electromagnetic lock and the armature plate with a soft, dry cloth. Ensure no dust, dirt, or foreign objects accumulate on these surfaces, as this can reduce holding force.
- Check Connections: Regularly inspect all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion. Loose connections can lead to intermittent operation or complete failure.
- Inspect Armature Plate: Verify that the armature plate's screw is not overtightened and that the rubber ring maintains its elasticity, allowing for slight movement and optimal contact.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your magnetic lock, refer to the following troubleshooting guide:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Weak holding force |
|
|
| Lock does not engage (door remains unlocked when powered) |
|
|
| Lock does not disengage (door remains locked when power is off) |
