Installation (Setup)

Replacing your grill parts is a straightforward process. Always ensure your grill is completely cool and disconnected from its fuel source before beginning any installation.

  1. Remove Old Components: Carefully remove the old burners, heat tents, and carryover tubes. Note how they are positioned and secured. Some older models may use clevis pins which might break during removal; new hardware (bolts/nuts) may be provided for replacement.
  2. Install New Burners: Place the new stainless steel burners into their respective positions. Ensure they are properly seated and aligned with the gas valves.
  3. Attach Carryover Tubes: Connect the adjustable carryover tubes between the burners. These tubes facilitate flame spread from one burner to the next. Adjust their length as needed to fit securely.
  4. Place Heat Tents: Position the porcelain steel heat tents over the burners. Ensure the tabs on the heat tents fit correctly into the slots in the grill body. Note: In some cases, minor modification (e.g., grinding tabs) may be required for a perfect fit if the slots are slightly off.
  5. Connect Igniters: Attach the new grill igniters. These are designed for easy, screw-less installation. Ensure the ceramic tip is positioned correctly near the burner's gas ports for reliable ignition. Connect the igniter wires to the grill's ignition module. The 36-inch wire length provides ample reach.

After installation, visually inspect all connections and ensure components are securely in place before reconnecting the fuel source and testing.

Operating

Once the new parts are installed, your grill should operate with renewed efficiency. The stainless steel burners provide consistent flame distribution, and the porcelain steel heat tents ensure even heat across the cooking surface.

To operate your grill:

  1. Ensure the gas tank is connected and the valve is open.
  2. Turn the control knob for the desired burner to the "High" or "Ignite" position.
  3. Press the ignition button (if applicable) or use the built-in igniter by turning the knob. You should hear a click and see the burner ignite.
  4. If using multiple burners, ignite them one by one. The carryover tubes will help spread the flame.
  5. Adjust the flame intensity using the control knobs as needed for cooking.

The new components are designed to provide a reliable and consistent grilling experience, making your grill feel like new again.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance of your grill parts will ensure their longevity and continued performance. The materials used in Adviace replacement parts are selected for their durability and resistance to common grill wear and tear.

  • Regular Cleaning: After each use, allow the grill to cool. Brush off any food debris from the heat tents and burners. For deeper cleaning, components can be removed and washed with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reinstallation.
  • Inspect for Blockages: Periodically check burner ports for any blockages (e.g., grease, insect nests) that could impede gas flow. Use a small wire brush or paper clip to clear them.
  • Corrosion Check: While the parts are made of rust-resistant stainless steel and porcelain steel, regular inspection for any signs of corrosion is recommended, especially in humid environments. Address any surface rust promptly.
  • Igniter Care: Ensure the igniter tips are clean and free from grease buildup to maintain reliable ignition.
  • Storage: If storing the grill for an extended period, ensure all components are clean and dry. Covering the grill can help protect the parts from environmental elements.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues after installing your replacement parts, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Burner Not Lighting:
    • Check if the gas tank is open and has sufficient fuel.
    • Ensure the igniter tip is clean and properly positioned close to the burner's gas ports.
    • Verify that the igniter wire is securely connected to the ignition module.
    • Inspect burner ports for blockages.
  • Uneven Heating:
    • Ensure heat tents are correctly positioned and not warped.
    • Check for any blockages in the burner tubes that might restrict gas flow.
  • Heat Tent Fit Issues:
    • If heat tent tabs are too wide for the grill slots, a small amount of material may need to be carefully filed or ground off the edges of the tabs for a proper fit.
  • Slow Cross-Ignition:
    • Ensure carryover tubes are clean and properly aligned between burners to facilitate flame transfer.
    • Verify that the burners themselves are clean and free of debris.
