Introduction
This instruction manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your SMETA 60L 3-Way Absorption Camping Refrigerator. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation, operation, or maintenance to ensure proper use and to prevent damage to the appliance or injury to yourself.
This refrigerator is designed for versatile use, offering three power options: 12V DC, 220-240V AC, and gas. It is ideal for camping, RVs, caravans, trucks, vans, yachts, and other off-grid or mobile applications.
Safety Information
Always prioritize safety when operating this appliance. Failure to follow these instructions may result in property damage, injury, or death.
- Gas Operation: When operating on gas, ensure adequate gas pressure (30 mbar is recommended) and proper ventilation in the area where the refrigerator is installed. Never use the refrigerator in an unventilated, airtight space with gas.
- Ventilation: If using the refrigerator in an enclosed space, especially with propane, a ventilation kit is required to prevent gas accumulation.
- Level Surface: The refrigerator must be placed on a horizontal surface. If the tilt angle exceeds 5 degrees, the cooling unit may become blocked and cease to cool effectively. Adjust the feet to ensure the top surface is level.
- Power Sources: Do not use two types of power supply simultaneously (e.g., AC and DC, or AC and Gas). Select one power source at a time.
- Ammonia System: This is an absorption refrigerator that uses an ammonia, water, and hydrogen mixture for cooling. Do not attempt to repair the sealed cooling system yourself. Contact qualified service personnel for repairs.
- Initial Setup: After transport, allow the refrigerator to stand upright for at least 6 hours before plugging it in or connecting to gas. This allows the cooling fluids to settle.
Setup and Installation
Unpacking and Initial Placement
Carefully unpack the refrigerator and remove all packaging materials. Place the unit in its desired location, ensuring it is on a stable, horizontal surface. Use the adjustable feet to level the appliance if necessary. Allow the refrigerator to stand upright for a minimum of 6 hours before connecting it to any power source.

Power Connections
This refrigerator supports three power modes:
- 12V DC: For outdoor and vehicle use (e.g., car, RV, boat). Connect to a 12V DC power outlet.
- 220-240V AC: For indoor and mains power use. Connect to a standard 220-240V AC wall socket.
- Gas: For off-grid use. Connect to a propane gas cylinder. Ensure proper gas line installation and ventilation.
Important: Never connect to more than one power source simultaneously. Always ensure the gas pressure is 30 mbar for optimal performance when using gas.

Operating Instructions
Control Panel Overview
The control panel allows you to select the power mode and adjust settings.

Figure 4: Control Panel. A: Mode Change Knob, B: Pulse Igniter, C: Safety Valve, D: Flame Indicator.
- Mode Change Knob (A): Use this knob to select your desired power source: DC 12V, AC 220-240V, or Gas.
- Pulse Igniter (B): Used to ignite the gas flame when operating on gas mode.
- Safety Valve (C): A safety mechanism for gas operation.
- Flame Indicator (D): Illuminates to confirm that the gas flame is lit and operating.
First Use and Cooling
After the initial 6-hour settling period, connect the refrigerator to a 220-240V AC power source. Set the temperature to minimum (coldest setting). Allow 6 to 8 hours for the refrigerator to reach its operating temperature. The back of the unit should feel warm, indicating the cooling process is active. Once cooled, you can switch to 12V DC or Gas mode if desired.
This absorption refrigerator operates silently, making it ideal for environments where noise reduction is important.

Maintenance
General Cleaning
Clean the interior and exterior of the refrigerator regularly with a mild detergent and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage surfaces. Ensure the unit is unplugged or the gas supply is turned off before cleaning.
Defrosting
This model features a frost-free defrosting system, minimizing the need for manual defrosting. However, if ice buildup occurs, turn off the refrigerator, remove contents, and allow the ice to melt naturally. Wipe away excess water.
Ventilation Maintenance
Regularly check that the ventilation openings around the refrigerator are clear and unobstructed, especially when operating on gas. Proper airflow is crucial for efficient cooling and safety.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your refrigerator, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Refrigerator Not Cooling:
- Check Power: Ensure the unit is properly connected to a single, active power source (12V DC, 220-240V AC, or Gas).
- Level Surface: Verify the refrigerator is on a horizontal surface. A tilt greater than 5 degrees can impede cooling.
- Initial Cooling Time: Allow 6-8 hours for the refrigerator to reach optimal temperature on first use or after being off for an extended period.
- Gas Supply: If using gas, ensure the gas tank is not empty, the gas valve is open, and the gas pressure is sufficient (30 mbar). Check the flame indicator (D on control panel) to confirm ignition.
- Blocked Cooling Unit: If the cooling unit is suspected to be blocked, try the following procedure:
- Turn the refrigerator upside down for 8 hours.
- Return it to an upright position for 8 hours.
- Reconnect power and test.
- Heating Element Failure: If the heating element (for AC/DC operation) fails, it will need to be replaced by a qualified technician.
- Noisy Operation: This absorption refrigerator is designed for silent operation. If you hear unusual noises, ensure the unit is level and nothing is obstructing the cooling fins at the back.
If problems persist after attempting these solutions, please contact customer support.
