The THIRDREALITY ZigBee Smart Blind (Model 8531) offers a modern solution for window treatments, combining functionality with smart home integration. They feature an automatic height setting and can be controlled via remote, app, or voice commands when integrated with compatible smart home systems.

3. Installation

The Smart Blind is designed for easy, DIY-friendly installation. It supports both inside and outside mount options. Please refer to the size guide provided with your product to ensure correct measurements before installation.

3.1 Measuring Your Window

3.2 Mounting the Blind

Secure the mounting brackets to your window frame or wall according to your chosen mount type (inside or outside). Ensure the brackets are level and spaced correctly to support the blind. The blind features a limit switch on the bottom rail for automatic stopping when it reaches the window sill.

4. Operating Instructions

The Smart Blind offers multiple control options for your convenience.

The bottom rail of the Smart Blind has integrated buttons for manual control. Use these buttons to raise, lower, or stop the blind at your desired position.

The THIRDREALITY Smart Blind is built on the ZigBee 3.0 standard, allowing seamless integration with various smart home ecosystems.

5.1 Direct ZigBee Hub Connection

The blind can directly connect to popular ZigBee hubs such as Echo Plus (1st & 2nd Gen), Echo Studio, Echo 4th Gen, SmartThings (2015/2018), Eero 6 & 6 Pro, Home Assistant (ZHA/ZigBee2MQTT), Hubitat Elevation, Homey Bridge, Homey Pro, and THIRDREALITY Smart Hub.

5.2 Matter Integration (via Smart Bridge MZ1)

For broader compatibility, including Apple HomeKit, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa (requiring a Smart Speaker), the Smart Blind can be integrated via the THIRDREALITY Smart Bridge MZ1 (sold separately). This enables advanced control and monitoring features.

5.3 Voice Control and Routines

Once connected to a compatible hub, you can control your blinds using voice commands through Amazon Alexa. You can also create custom routines, timers, and schedules to automate blind operation based on time, distance, or sunrise/sunset.

6.1 Battery Replacement

The Smart Blind is powered by 4 AA batteries located in the bottom rail. Under typical usage conditions (opening/closing once daily), batteries can last up to 6 months. Replace batteries as needed by accessing the battery compartment.
