3. Setup

3.1 System Requirements

  • Bluetooth-enabled Mac with OS X 10.11 or later
  • iPad with iPadOS 13.4 or later

3.2 Initial Pairing

  1. Ensure your Magic Mouse is charged (refer to Section 5: Charging).
  2. Turn on the Magic Mouse using the switch on its underside.
  3. For Mac: The Magic Mouse should automatically pair with your Mac if it's nearby and Bluetooth is enabled. If not, go to System Settings > Bluetooth and select your Magic Mouse from the list of devices.
  4. For iPad: Go to Settings > Bluetooth on your iPad and select your Magic Mouse from the list of devices.

4. Operating Instructions

The Magic Mouse features a Multi-Touch surface that allows for various gestures to navigate and interact with your device.

4.1 Basic Clicks

  • Left-Click: Press the left side of the mouse surface.
  • Right-Click: Press the right side of the mouse surface. (Ensure secondary click is enabled in System Settings > Mouse).

4.2 Multi-Touch Gestures

  • Scrolling: Slide one finger up or down on the surface to scroll vertically. Slide one finger left or right to scroll horizontally.
  • Swiping Between Pages: Swipe one finger left or right to navigate between web pages in a browser or documents.
  • Zoom: Double-tap with one finger to zoom in or out on a web page or PDF.
  • Mission Control: Double-tap with two fingers to open Mission Control.

Note: Gesture functionality can be customized in your Mac's System Settings > Mouse.

5. Charging

The Apple Magic Mouse is equipped with a long-lasting internal rechargeable Lithium Ion battery, providing approximately a month or more of use on a single charge.

  1. Locate the Lightning port on the underside of the Magic Mouse.
  2. Connect the included USB-C to Lightning Cable to the mouse's Lightning port.
  3. Connect the USB-C end of the cable to a USB-C port on your Mac or a compatible USB power adapter.
  4. The mouse cannot be used while it is charging due to the location of the charging port.

6.1 Cleaning
