Setup

1. Attaching the Antenna

Carefully screw the supplied antenna clockwise onto the antenna connector on the top of the transceiver until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

2. Installing the Battery Pack

  1. Ensure the transceiver is turned off.
  2. Align the battery pack with the battery compartment on the rear of the transceiver.
  3. Slide the battery pack into place until it clicks securely.
  4. Verify the battery release latch is engaged to prevent accidental detachment.

3. Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the battery pack. Connect the charger to a power outlet and then connect it to the transceiver's charging port. The charging indicator will show the charging status. A full charge typically takes several hours.

Operating the Transceiver

Power On/Off

Press and hold the POWER button (usually located on the top or side) for approximately 1 second to turn the transceiver on or off.

Basic Operation

D-Star Operation

The ID-52E supports D-Star digital voice and data communication. To use D-Star, you will need to configure call signs and repeater settings. Refer to the detailed D-Star section in the full manual for advanced setup.

GPS Functionality

The integrated GPS allows for position reporting and D-PRS (Digital Position Reporting System) operations. Ensure you have a clear view of the sky for optimal GPS signal reception.

Maintenance
