1. Introduction

The RecZone LLC Password Safe is an electronic device designed to securely store your login credentials and other sensitive information offline. The RecZone Password Safe is a compact, handheld device. It features a large, easy-to-read backlit LCD screen at the top, displaying information clearly. Below the screen is a full QWERTY keyboard for efficient text and number input. Navigation buttons (OK, up, down, left, right) are located to the right of the screen for menu selection and scrolling. A dedicated 'ACTION' button allows for various functions, and 'Shift' and 'Caps Lock' buttons are available for character input. The device also includes a mini stylus for precise keypad entry, which can be stored conveniently. The battery compartment is located on the back of the device.

5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

The device operates on three (3) AAA batteries. These may be pre-installed or included separately in the package. If not pre-installed, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide the cover open in the direction indicated by the arrow.
  3. Insert three (3) AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as marked inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover, sliding it until it clicks securely into place.

5.2. Initial PIN Setup

Upon first use or after a factory reset, you will need to set your personal identification number (PIN). This PIN is your master key to access all stored information. Choose a strong, memorable PIN.

  1. Turn on the device by pressing the Power button (usually red).
  2. The screen will prompt you to "Please enter PIN:".
  3. Since it's the first time, you will be guided to set a new PIN. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your desired PIN.
  4. Confirm your PIN when prompted.
  5. Once confirmed, your PIN is set. Remember this PIN as it is essential for accessing your data.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Accessing the Device

To access your stored passwords, turn on the device and enter your master PIN when prompted. Press the 'OK' button to confirm.

6.2. Adding a New Entry

To add a new website or account entry:

  1. From the main menu, select 'ADD' (or similar option, navigate using arrow keys and 'OK').
  2. Use the QWERTY keyboard to enter the website/account name. Press 'OK'.
  3. Enter the username/login ID. Press 'OK'.
  4. Enter the password. Use 'Shift' for uppercase letters and special characters. Press 'OK'.
  5. You may have an option to add a password hint or notes. Enter any relevant information. Press 'OK'.
  6. The device will save the entry.

6.3. Searching for Entries

The device includes a search function to quickly find your stored information:

  1. From the main menu, select 'SEARCH' (or similar option).
  2. Begin typing the name of the website or account you are looking for. The device will filter results as you type.
  3. Use the arrow keys to scroll through the matching entries.
  4. Press 'OK' to view the full details of a selected entry.

6.4. Editing or Deleting Entries

To modify or remove an existing entry:

  1. Search for and select the desired entry.
  2. From the entry's detail screen, look for 'EDIT' or 'DEL' (Delete) options. Navigate and select the desired action.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to make changes or confirm deletion. Be cautious when deleting, as this action is usually permanent.

7.1. Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator on the screen shows low power, replace the batteries promptly. The built-in flash memory ensures that all your stored passwords are retained even when the batteries are removed or completely drained. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 5.1.

The device can be reset to permanently erase all stored data. This action is irreversible. Refer to the device's on-screen menu or specific instructions for the 'RESET' or 'ERASE ALL DATA' function. This is typically found within the 'SETTINGS' menu.
