3. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your GAOMON PD1220 Pen Display.

3.1. Driver Installation
- Before connecting the PD1220, uninstall any existing tablet drivers from your computer to avoid conflicts.
- Visit the official GAOMON website (refer to the Driver Installation Card for the correct URL) to download the latest driver compatible with your operating system (Windows or macOS).
- Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the driver installation.
- Restart your computer after installation is complete.
3.2. Connecting to a Computer (HDMI & USB-A)
This connection method requires both HDMI and USB-A ports on your computer.
- Connect the Mini HDMI end of the HDMI to Mini HDMI Cable to the PD1220's Mini HDMI port.
- Connect the standard HDMI end of the cable to an available HDMI port on your computer.
- Connect the Type-C end of the Dual USB-A to Type-C Cable to one of the Type-C ports on the PD1220.
- Connect the two USB-A ends of the cable to available USB-A ports on your computer. Ensure both USB-A plugs are connected for stable power and data transmission.
- Connect the AC Adapter to a power outlet and then to the power input port on the PD1220.
- Power on the PD1220 using the power button.

3.3. Connecting to a Computer (Full-featured Type-C)
If your computer has a full-featured USB-C port (supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode and power delivery), you can use a single Type-C to Type-C cable (sold separately) for both video and data.
- Connect one end of the full-featured Type-C to Type-C cable to the PD1220's Type-C port.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the full-featured Type-C port on your computer.
- Connect the AC Adapter to a power outlet and then to the power input port on the PD1220.
- Power on the PD1220 using the power button.
3.4. Connecting to an Android Device
The PD1220 supports connection to Android devices with USB3.1 Gen1 Type-C ports (DisplayPort Alt Mode and power delivery capable).
- Connect one end of a full-featured Type-C to Type-C cable (sold separately) to the PD1220's Type-C port.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the compatible Type-C port on your Android device.
- Connect the AC Adapter to a power outlet and then to the power input port on the PD1220.
- Power on the PD1220 using the power button.
3.5. Attaching the Leather Stand
The included leather stand can be attached to the back of the PD1220 for adjustable viewing and drawing angles.
- Align the magnetic strip of the leather stand with the corresponding area on the back of the PD1220.
- The stand will magnetically attach. Fold the stand to create the desired angle for use.
4. Operating the Pen Display
4.1. Pen Usage
The GAOMON AP50 passive pen offers 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity and supports 60-degree tilt function. This allows for natural and precise control over line thickness and shading in compatible software.
- Pressure Sensitivity: Apply varying pressure to the pen to control the opacity or thickness of your strokes.
- Tilt Function: Tilt the pen to achieve shading effects, similar to using a traditional pencil or brush.
- Pen Buttons: The two buttons on the pen are customizable via the GAOMON driver software. By default, they may function as right-click or scroll.

4.2. Display Settings
You can configure the PD1220 as a mirrored display or an extended display through your computer's display settings.
- Mirror Display: The PD1220 shows the same content as your primary monitor.
- Extended Display: The PD1220 acts as a second monitor, allowing you to extend your desktop workspace. This is ideal for having reference images on one screen and your drawing software on the other.

5. Maintenance
5.1. Screen Cleaning
To maintain optimal display clarity, regularly clean the screen using the provided cleaning cloth. For stubborn smudges, lightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-safe cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
5.2. Pen Nib Replacement
Over time, the pen nib may wear down. Replace it with one of the spare nibs found inside the pen holder. Use the nib clip to carefully pull out the old nib and insert a new one until it clicks into place.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your GAOMON PD1220, refer to the common problems and solutions below:
- No Signal / Display Not Turning On:
- Ensure all cables (HDMI, USB, power) are securely connected to both the PD1220 and your computer/device.
- Verify that the AC adapter is properly plugged into a working power outlet.
- If using a Type-C to Type-C connection, confirm that your computer's Type-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and power delivery.
- Check your computer's display settings to ensure the PD1220 is detected and configured as an active display.
- Pen Not Working / No Pressure Sensitivity:

- Verify that the pen nib is properly inserted. Try replacing the nib.
- Check the driver settings for pen calibration and pressure sensitivity adjustments.

- Parallax / Cursor Offset:
