Setup and Installation

Follow these steps carefully for proper installation. A Phillips head screwdriver and tape measure are typically required.

  1. Prepare the Door: Ensure your door is prepared for a standard deadbolt installation. Refer to the included template for drilling holes if necessary.
  2. Install the Latch: Insert the deadbolt latch into the door edge. Ensure the "UP" arrow on the latch is facing upwards.
  3. Install Exterior Assembly: Route the cable from the exterior keypad assembly through the door hole. Position the exterior assembly flush against the door.
  4. Install Interior Mounting Plate: Secure the interior mounting plate to the exterior assembly using the provided screws. Ensure the cable passes through the plate.
  5. Connect Cables: Connect the cable from the exterior assembly to the interior lock assembly.
  6. Install Interior Assembly: Attach the interior lock assembly to the mounting plate, ensuring the thumb turn spindle engages with the latch mechanism. Secure with screws.
  7. Install Strike Plate: Install the strike plate on the door frame, aligning it with the deadbolt latch.
  8. Test Operation: Test the lock with the manual key and ensure the deadbolt extends and retracts smoothly.

Important: For detailed drilling and specific component alignment, always refer to the physical installation template and diagrams provided in your product packaging.

Operating Instructions

Initial Programming

Before first use, you must set a Master Code and User Codes.

  1. Install Batteries: Open the battery cover on the interior assembly and insert 4 AA alkaline batteries.
  2. Set Master Code: Press the "Program" button (usually located on the interior assembly). Enter a new 4-8 digit Master Code, then press the "Lock" button.
  3. Add User Code: Press the "Program" button. Enter the Master Code, then press the "Lock" button. Enter a new 4-8 digit User Code, then press the "Lock" button. Repeat for additional user codes.

Note: The Master Code is used for programming and cannot unlock the door. User Codes are used for daily entry.

Unlocking the Door

  • Using a User Code: Enter your 4-8 digit User Code, then press the "Lock" button. The deadbolt will retract.
  • Using a Key: Insert the key into the cylinder and turn to unlock.

Locking the Door

  • Automatic Locking: The lock may be configured for automatic re-locking after a set period (e.g., 30 seconds).
  • Manual Locking: Press the "Lock" button on the keypad or turn the thumb turn on the interior assembly.

Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: When the battery indicator light flashes or the lock emits a low battery warning, replace all four AA alkaline batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Cleaning: Clean the keypad and lock body with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
  • Lubrication: Periodically lubricate the deadbolt latch mechanism with a silicone-based lubricant to ensure smooth operation. Do not lubricate the key cylinder.
