Setup and First Use
Initial Preparation
- Remove all packaging materials and labels from the pans.
- Wash the pans thoroughly with warm soapy water using a soft sponge. Rinse completely and dry with a soft cloth.
Conditioning the Nonstick Surface
Before the first use, it is recommended to condition the nonstick surface:
- Place the pan over low heat for approximately 30 seconds.
- Add 1 teaspoon of cooking oil (such as vegetable or canola oil) to the pan.
- Spread the oil over the entire nonstick surface using a paper towel.
- Remove the pan from heat and allow it to cool completely.
- Wipe off any excess oil. Your pan is now ready for use.
Note: It is recommended to use a small amount of cooking oil or butter for optimal cooking results and to preserve the nonstick coating over time.
Operating Instructions
Heat Settings
- Use low to medium heat settings for most cooking tasks. The hard anodized construction ensures efficient heat distribution, making high heat unnecessary.
- Avoid using excessively high heat, as it can damage the nonstick coating over time and lead to discoloration.
- These pans are suitable for electric and gas stovetops. They are not compatible with induction stovetops.
Recommended Utensils
- To protect the nonstick surface, always use heat-resistant nylon, silicone, or wooden utensils.
- Do not use metal utensils, as they can scratch and damage the ceramic nonstick coating.
Oven and Broiler Use
- The frying pans are oven and broiler safe up to 600°F (315°C).
- If using with a lid (not included in this set but compatible with other GreenPan Reserve lids), ensure the lid is also oven safe to the desired temperature.

Maintenance and Care
Cleaning
- Always allow your pans to cool completely before washing. Submerging a hot pan in cold water can cause thermal shock, leading to warping.
- The pans are dishwasher safe. However, for optimal longevity of the nonstick coating and overall appearance, hand washing is recommended.
- For hand washing, use warm soapy water and a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh scouring pads, as these can damage the nonstick surface.
- For stubborn food residue, soak the pan in warm soapy water for a few minutes before attempting to clean.

Storage
- When stacking pans for storage, place pan protectors (not included) or a soft cloth between them to prevent scratches to the nonstick surface.
Troubleshooting
Food Sticking
- If food begins to stick, the nonstick coating may need re-conditioning. Refer to the "Conditioning the Nonstick Surface" steps in the Setup section.
- Ensure you are using appropriate heat settings (low to medium) and a small amount of cooking oil or butter. Excessive dry heating can reduce nonstick performance.
Discoloration or Stains
- High heat can cause discoloration or slight staining on the exterior or interior of the pan over time. This is normal and does not typically affect the pan's cooking performance.
- For exterior stains, a non-abrasive cleaner designed for cookware exteriors may be used, following product instructions.
