4. Setup and Installation

The WonVon Smart Battery Monitor can be installed using either an internal or external power supply configuration. The display module can be mounted externally or embedded into a panel for a clean, space-saving installation.

Connection Instructions

Refer to the diagram below for detailed wiring instructions. Ensure all connections are secure and correctly polarized to prevent damage to the device or battery system.

Wiring diagrams for internal and external power supply configurations of the WonVon Smart Battery Monitor.

Image: Wiring diagrams illustrating how to connect the battery monitor using either an internal power supply (switch to 2W) or an external power supply (switch to 3W, DC 10-80V).

Internal Power Supply (Switch to 2W)

In this configuration, the measuring module draws power directly from the battery it is monitoring. Connect the positive and negative terminals of the battery to the corresponding VEXT and GND inputs on the measuring module. The shunt is installed in series with the negative battery terminal and the load/charger.

External Power Supply (Switch to 3W)

For systems where the battery voltage is outside the self-power range (10-120V) or for enhanced isolation, an external DC 10-80V power source can be used. Connect the external power supply to the VEXT and GND inputs on the measuring module. The battery's positive and negative terminals are connected to the shunt and load/charger as shown in the diagram.

Important: Always ensure the correct switch setting (2W for internal, 3W for external) on the measuring module matches your power supply method.

5. Operating Instructions

The WonVon Smart Battery Monitor provides comprehensive real-time data and programmable alarms to protect your battery system.

Display Interface

The 2.4-inch color LED display shows various parameters simultaneously, including voltage, current, power, ambient temperature, remaining capacity (AH), and estimated time remaining. The large fonts ensure easy readability.

Bluetooth Monitoring

Connect the measurement module to your mobile phone via Bluetooth. This allows you to view real-time digital data, adjust parameters, and monitor your battery status remotely. The software supports Android 5.0 and more advanced systems. During installation, grant location permissions when prompted.

Programmable Alarm Protection

The monitor features programmable alarm functions to protect your battery during charging and discharging. These include:

  • High/Low Voltage Protection
  • Positive/Negative Current Protection
  • Over Temperature Protection
  • Over-Power Protection

Note: Configuration of a relay may be required for certain protection features to function.

6. Maintenance

The WonVon Smart Battery Monitor is designed for durability and requires minimal maintenance. To ensure optimal performance:

  • Keep the display module clean and free from dust and moisture.
  • Regularly check all wiring connections for tightness and corrosion.
  • Ensure the shunt is securely mounted and its connections are clean.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.

7. Troubleshooting

Inaccurate Battery Capacity Readings

If you observe that the displayed battery capacity seems unusually high or inaccurate, this may be due to the monitor calculating remaining electricity based solely on voltage. Traditional voltage-based meters can provide misleading readings, especially under load or after resting. The WonVon Battery Monitor calculates capacitance based on current over time, providing a more accurate real-time status. Ensure the shunt is correctly installed and calibrated for precise measurements.

Bluetooth Connection Issues

  • Ensure your mobile device is running Android 5.0 or a more advanced system.
  • Verify that location services are enabled and permissions have been granted to the application during installation.
  • Check that the monitor is powered on and within the 10m Bluetooth communication range.
  • Restart the application and/or your mobile device.

Display Not Working / No Power

  • Check all power connections to the measuring module and display.
  • Verify the power supply method (internal/external) and ensure the switch on the measuring module is set correctly (2W for internal, 3W for external).
  • Ensure the battery voltage is within the specified operating range (10-120V for self-power, 0-120V for external power).

8. Warranty and Support

For warranty information and technical support, please refer to the documentation provided with your purchase or contact WonVon customer service through their official channels. Keep your purchase receipt as proof of purchase for warranty claims.
