5. Setup and Installation

The DriSentri Car Back-up Alarm is designed for easy installation. Follow these steps for proper setup:

1. Choose a Mounting Location: Select a secure location at the rear of your vehicle, away from direct heat sources or moving parts. The alarm comes with a mounting bracket for easy attachment. Ensure the sound output is not obstructed.
2. Mount the Alarm: Use appropriate fasteners (not included) to securely attach the alarm's mounting bracket to the chosen location.
3. Wiring Connection:
   • Identify your vehicle's reverse light wiring. The alarm requires a 12-24V DC power source that is active when the vehicle is in reverse gear.
   • Connect the red wire from the alarm to the positive (+) wire of your vehicle's reverse light circuit.
   • Connect the black wire from the alarm to a reliable ground point on the vehicle chassis or the negative (-) wire of the reverse light circuit.

The DriSentri Car Back-up Alarm operates automatically. Once properly installed and wired to your vehicle's reverse light circuit, the alarm will activate whenever the vehicle's transmission is shifted into reverse gear.

The alarm will emit a loud, continuous beeping sound at 105dB, providing an audible warning to anyone in the vicinity of the vehicle's rear. The alarm will cease sounding when the vehicle is taken out of reverse gear.
