1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your Flybold Slackline Obstacle Course. This kit is designed to provide an engaging outdoor activity for developing balance, strength, and coordination. Please read this manual thoroughly before initial use and retain it for future reference.
2. Safety Information
WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in serious injury or death.
- Adult supervision is required at all times.
- Ensure the slackline is securely anchored to two stable, healthy trees with a minimum diameter of 12 inches (30 cm).
- Always use the provided tree protectors to prevent damage to trees and the slackline.
- The maximum weight capacity for this slackline system is 300 lbs (136 kg). Do not exceed this limit.
- Install the slackline and obstacles over a soft, level surface such as grass or wood chips. Avoid concrete, asphalt, or other hard surfaces.
- Ensure sufficient clear space around and beneath the slackline and obstacles to prevent collisions.
- Regularly inspect all components for wear, damage, or loose connections before each use. Do not use if any part is damaged.
- Do not modify the product in any way. Use only original Flybold components.
- Children should wear appropriate safety gear, such as helmets, if performing advanced maneuvers.
- Do not use in adverse weather conditions (e.g., strong winds, rain, snow, ice).

4. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to safely set up your slackline obstacle course.
4.1 Choosing a Location
- Select two healthy, mature trees that are strong enough to withstand the tension of the slackline. Each tree should have a minimum diameter of 12 inches (30 cm).
- Ensure the distance between the trees is appropriate for the 40 ft slackline, allowing for proper tensioning.
- The ground beneath the slackline and obstacles should be soft and clear of any hazards (rocks, roots, sharp objects).
4.2 Attaching Tree Protectors
Wrap the tree protectors around the trees at the desired height. These protect both the trees from abrasion and the slackline from wear.

Image 4.1: The slackline main line secured around a tree with a green tree protector in place, demonstrating proper installation to prevent damage.
4.3 Installing the Slackline and Ratchet
- Wrap the main slackline (the longer strap) around one tree, over the tree protector, and feed the end through the loop to secure it.
- Extend the slackline to the second tree.
- Wrap the ratchet strap (the shorter strap with the ratchet mechanism) around the second tree, over its tree protector.
- Feed the loose end of the main slackline through the axle of the ratchet.
- Pull the slackline through the ratchet until most of the slack is removed.
- Operate the ratchet handle to tension the slackline. Ensure the line is taut but not excessively tight, as this can damage the trees or the line. The line should be firm but allow for some flex.
- Once tensioned, close the ratchet handle completely to lock it in place.

4.4 Attaching Obstacles
The obstacles can be attached to the main slackline using the provided connection straps and carabiners. The design allows for adjustable positioning.
- Identify the small loops sewn into the main slackline. These are attachment points for the obstacles.
- Thread a connection strap through one of these loops.
- Attach a carabiner to the ends of the connection strap, forming a secure loop.
- Connect the desired obstacle (e.g., gymnastic ring, monkey fist) to the carabiner.
- Repeat for all desired obstacles, spacing them according to the user's skill level and desired challenge.

5. Operating Guide
The Flybold Slackline Obstacle Course offers various ways to engage in physical activity.
5.1 Using the Slackline
- Begin by walking on the slackline close to the ground, with assistance if needed.
- Focus on a point ahead to maintain balance.
- As skill improves, the slackline can be set higher, or obstacles can be added/removed to adjust difficulty.
5.2 Using the Obstacles
- The obstacles are designed for swinging, climbing, and hanging.
- Ensure a firm grip on all obstacles before putting full weight on them.
- Adjust the spacing and type of obstacles to create different challenges. For beginners, space obstacles closer together. For advanced users, increase the distance.
6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safety of your slackline obstacle course.
- Cleaning: Clean the slackline and obstacles with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before storage. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Inspection: Before each use, inspect all straps, ratchets, carabiners, and obstacles for signs of wear, fraying, cracks, rust, or other damage. Pay close attention to stitching on straps.
- Storage: When not in use, disassemble the slackline course and store all components in the provided carry bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. This prevents premature degradation of materials.
- Tree Protectors: Ensure tree protectors are always used to prevent damage to both the trees and the slackline. Replace if they show significant wear.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Slackline not taut enough | Insufficient tensioning; trees too close. | Ensure all slack is pulled through the ratchet before tensioning. If trees are too close, consider wrapping the main line around the first tree multiple times to take up slack before connecting to the ratchet. |
| Ratchets are difficult to operate | Over-tensioned; dirt/debris in mechanism. | Do not over-tension. Clean the ratchet mechanism if dirt is present. Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant if necessary. |
| Obstacles slide on the slackline | Connection straps not properly secured. | Ensure connection straps are threaded through the designated loops on the main slackline and carabiners are securely closed. |
| Visible wear or damage on components | Normal wear and tear; improper use/storage. | Discontinue use immediately. Replace damaged components or contact customer support for assistance. |
