Setup and Installation

Tools Required (Not Included):

  • Adjustable Wrench
  • Phillips Screwdriver
  • Plumber's Putty or Silicone Sealant
  • Flashlight
  • Safety Glasses

Pre-Installation Steps:

  1. Turn off Water Supply: Locate the main water shut-off valve for your home or the shut-off valves under the sink. Turn them off completely.
  2. Remove Old Faucet: Disconnect the hot and cold water supply lines from the old faucet. Remove the mounting nuts and lift the old faucet from the sink. Clean the sink surface thoroughly.

Faucet Installation:

  1. Prepare Faucet: Apply a thin bead of plumber's putty or silicone sealant around the base of the new faucet.
  2. Mount Faucet: Insert the faucet body through the mounting hole(s) in the sink or countertop. Ensure the faucet is properly aligned.
  3. Secure Faucet: From underneath the sink, slide the rubber washer, metal washer, and mounting nut onto the threaded shank(s). Hand-tighten the mounting nut, then use an adjustable wrench to secure it firmly, but do not overtighten.
  4. Connect Supply Lines: Connect the hot and cold water supply lines from the faucet to the corresponding shut-off valves. Use an adjustable wrench to tighten connections, ensuring a leak-free seal. Do not overtighten.
  5. Install Drain Assembly (if applicable): Follow the separate instructions provided with your drain assembly for proper installation.

Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on Water Supply: Slowly turn on the hot and cold water supply valves under the sink. Check for any leaks.
  2. Flush Faucet: With the faucet handle in the "off" position, slowly open the main water supply. Remove the aerator from the spout. Turn the faucet handle to the full hot and full cold positions, allowing water to run for at least one minute to flush out any debris from the lines.
  3. Reinstall Aerator: Turn off the faucet, reinstall the aerator, and check for proper water flow.
  4. Temperature and Flow Control: The single handle controls both water temperature and flow.
    • Lift the handle to increase water flow.
    • Move the handle left for hot water and right for cold water.

Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Clean your Moen faucet regularly with a soft cloth and warm, soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish.
  • Aerator Cleaning: If water flow decreases, the aerator may be clogged. Unscrew the aerator from the spout, rinse any debris, and reattach.
  • Hard Water: In areas with hard water, mineral deposits can build up. Regular cleaning helps prevent this. For stubborn deposits, use a solution of vinegar and water, but test on an inconspicuous area first.
