1. Product Overview

The Alpine Corporation PEG5600 5600 GPH Vortex Energy-Saving Pump is designed for water circulation in outdoor water features such as ponds, fountains, waterfalls, and decorative streams. This submersible pump provides a maximum flow rate of 5600 gallons per hour, supporting aquatic health and reducing water stagnation. It operates quietly and efficiently at 324 watts. The vortex impeller technology is designed to handle large volumes of water and debris. Its versatile design allows for vertical or horizontal placement, and its durable housing is built to resist wear from debris and long-term underwater exposure.

3. Setup Instructions

1. Unpack the Pump: Carefully remove the pump and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any damage.
2. Choose Placement: Determine whether to install the pump vertically or horizontally based on your water feature design. The pump is designed for submersible use.
3. Attach Hose Adapter: Select the appropriate hose adapter (1.5" or 2") for your tubing. Thread the adapter securely onto the pump's outlet.
4. Connect Tubing: Attach your water tubing to the hose adapter. Secure it with a hose clamp (not included) if necessary to prevent leaks.
5. Install Mesh Bag (Optional but Recommended): Place the pump inside the provided mesh bag. This will help prevent larger debris from entering the pump and clogging the impeller.
6. Position the Pump: Place the pump in the desired location within your pond or water feature. Ensure it is fully submerged and stable. The suction cups on the base can help secure it to a flat surface.
7. Route Power Cord: Carefully route the 20-foot power cord to a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) protected outdoor electrical outlet. Avoid kinks or damage to the cord.

4. Operating Instructions

1. Ensure Submersion: Before plugging in the pump, ensure it is completely submerged in water. Operating the pump dry can cause damage.
2. Plug In: Plug the pump's power cord into a GFCI-protected outdoor electrical outlet. The pump will start operating immediately.
3. Monitor Water Flow: Observe the water flow from your fountain, waterfall, or stream. Adjust the position of the pump or any flow control valves (if present in your system) to achieve the desired effect.
4. Continuous Operation: This pump is designed for continuous operation. For optimal water quality and feature performance, it is recommended to run the pump consistently.
5. Power Off: To stop the pump, simply unplug it from the electrical outlet.

• Disconnect Power: Always unplug the pump from the electrical outlet before performing any maintenance.
• Clean Mesh Bag: If using the mesh bag, regularly remove and clean it to prevent debris buildup that can restrict water flow.
• Clean Pre-Filter and Impeller: The pump's pre-filter and impeller housing can be easily disassembled without tools (refer to Figure 5). Remove any accumulated debris, algae, or mineral deposits from the impeller and its housing. Use a soft brush and clean water.
• Inspect Power Cord: Periodically check the power cord for any signs of damage, fraying, or cuts. Replace the pump if the cord is damaged.
• Winter Storage: In freezing climates, remove the pump from the water before the first frost. Clean it thoroughly, dry it, and store it in a frost-free location.
