4. Setup
4.1. Battery Installation
Before initial use, install the provided Li-ion battery pack into the radio.
- Ensure the radio is powered off.
- Locate the battery compartment latch on the back of the radio.
- Push the latch to release and open the battery cover.
- Insert the Li-ion battery pack, ensuring the contacts align correctly.

5. Operating Instructions
The WBT-V8 FRS Radio is designed for straightforward operation.
5.1. Power On/Off and Volume Adjustment
- To power on the radio, rotate the Power Switch/Volume Knob clockwise until you hear a click.
- Continue rotating the knob clockwise to increase the volume, or counter-clockwise to decrease it.
- To power off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until it clicks off.
5.2. Channel Selection
The WBT-V8 has 16 preset channels. To communicate with another radio, both devices must be set to the same channel and CTCSS/DCS code (if applicable).
- Rotate the Channel Switch to select the desired channel (1-16).
- The radio will announce the selected channel number.
5.3. Transmitting and Receiving
- To transmit, press and hold the PTT (Push-to-Talk) button. Speak clearly into the microphone.
- Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and return to receive mode.
- When receiving a signal, the radio will automatically output the audio.
