Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation:
- Choose Location: Select a location that receives ample direct sunlight throughout the day for optimal solar charging. Ensure the area is clear of obstructions that might block the solar panel or the motion sensor's detection range.
- Mounting Height: For best performance, install the light at an optimal height of 8 to 12 feet (approximately 2.4 to 3.6 meters) from the ground. This height allows for a wide detection and illumination angle.
- Secure Mounting: Use the provided screws and accessories to securely mount the light to a wall or fence. Ensure the mounting surface is stable.
- Initial Charge: Before first use, allow the light to charge in direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours to ensure the battery is sufficiently charged.

Figure 3: Installation Guidelines. This diagram illustrates the recommended installation height (8ft-12ft), detection and illumination angle (120 degrees), and detection distance (up to 33ft) for the solar security light, shown mounted above a garage door.

Operating Instructions
The light features three adjustable modes. Press the mode button to cycle through them:
Mode 1: Sensor Mode
The light remains off when no motion is detected. It illuminates at 100% brightness when motion is detected, then turns off after approximately 15-30 seconds of no motion.
Mode 2: Sensor & Dim Mode
The light stays on at a dim brightness (e.g., 20%) when no motion is detected. It switches to 100% brightness when motion is detected, then returns to dim mode after approximately 15-30 seconds of no motion.
Mode 3: Dim Mode (Always On)
The light stays on at a constant dim brightness. The infrared sensor stops working in this mode. This mode provides continuous ambient lighting throughout the night.

Figure 5: Three Adjustable Modes. This graphic illustrates the three operational modes: Sensor Mode (off then 100% bright), Sensor & Dim Mode (dim then 100% bright), and Dim Mode (constant 100% bright, or constant dim based on product behavior).
USB Charging: In prolonged periods of low sunlight or for emergency use, the light can be charged via its USB port. Connect a standard USB charger (not included) to the light's USB port. A full charge via USB takes approximately 1.5 hours and can provide illumination for up to 6 rainy nights.

Figure 6: Charging Information. This image details the solar charging process, indicating full charge within 4-5 hours of daylight, and USB charging capabilities, which can fully charge in 1.5 hours for use during rainy nights. It also includes a warning about avoiding blocked sunlight.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your solar light:
- Clean Solar Panel: Regularly wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, and debris. A clean panel ensures maximum sunlight absorption and charging efficiency.
- Check for Obstructions: Periodically check that no new obstructions (e.g., growing branches, accumulated snow) are blocking the solar panel or the motion sensor.
- Battery Care: While the battery is designed for long life, prolonged periods of non-use or consistent low charge can affect its capacity. If storing the light for an extended period, ensure it is fully charged beforehand.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light does not turn on at night. | Insufficient solar charge. Light switch is off. Sensor malfunction. | Ensure solar panel receives direct sunlight for 6-8 hours. Turn the light on using the On/Off switch. Test different modes. If issue persists, contact support. |
| Light is dim or only stays on for a short time. | Battery not fully charged. Solar panel is dirty or obstructed. Old battery. | Allow more charging time in direct sunlight. Use USB charging if needed. Clean the solar panel. Remove any obstructions. Battery replacement may be needed after extended use (contact support). |
| Motion sensor not detecting. | Incorrect mode selected. Sensor obstructed. Installation height too low/high. | Ensure Mode 1 or Mode 2 is selected. Clear any debris or objects blocking the sensor. Adjust installation height to 8-12 feet. |
