2. Setup

  1. Connect Power: Connect the provided power adapter to the DC 12V input port on the rear of the docking station (Figure 1.3), then plug the adapter into a wall outlet.

  2. Insert Drives: Gently slide your 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA HDD/SSD into the drive bays (HDD A and HDD B) until they are firmly seated. Ensure the SATA connector aligns correctly. You can insert one or two drives depending on your needs.

  3. Connect to Computer (for Data Transfer): If you intend to use the docking station for data transfer, connect one end of the supplied USB 3.0 cable to the USB 3.0 port on the rear of the docking station (Figure 1.3) and the other end to an available USB 3.0 port on your computer. The docking station is backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports, but for optimal performance, a USB 3.0 port is recommended.

  4. Power On: Press the power button located on the rear of the docking station (Figure 1.3). The front LED indicator (Figure 1.1) will illuminate, indicating the device is powered on.

Note: For new hard drives, you may need to initialize, partition, and format them through your operating system's Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS) before they appear in "My Computer" or "Finder".

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. Data Transfer Mode (Connected to Computer)

  1. Ensure the docking station is powered on and connected to your computer via the USB 3.0 cable as described in Section 2.

  2. Insert the SATA HDD/SSD into the desired bay (HDD A or HDD B).

  3. Your operating system should automatically detect the drive(s). The front LED indicator will show activity during data transfer.

  4. You can now access the drive(s) like any other external storage device for reading, writing, and managing files.

  5. To safely remove a drive, always use the "Safely Remove Hardware" option in Windows or "Eject" in macOS before physically disconnecting the drive or powering off the docking station.

3.2. Offline Clone Function (Stand-Alone Duplication)

The offline clone function allows you to duplicate a source drive to a target drive without needing a computer. This is ideal for creating exact copies of drives for backup or migration.

  1. Preparation: Ensure the docking station is powered off and disconnected from any computer.

  2. Insert Source Drive: Insert the Source Drive (the drive you want to copy FROM) into the HDD A slot.

  3. Insert Target Drive: Insert the Target Drive (the drive you want to copy TO) into the HDD B slot.

    • Important: The Target Drive (HDD B) must be equal to or larger in capacity than the Source Drive (HDD A).
    • Warning: All data on the Target Drive (HDD B) will be erased during the cloning process. Back up any important data on the Target Drive before proceeding.
  4. Power On: Press the power button on the rear of the docking station.

  5. Initiate Clone: Press and hold the "CLONE" button (usually located near the drive slots or on the front panel, often integrated with the LED indicator) for approximately 3-5 seconds until the LED indicator begins to flash or change color, indicating the cloning process has started.

  6. Monitor Progress: The front LED indicator will change color or flash in a specific pattern to show the cloning progress (e.g., different colors for 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% completion). Refer to the device's specific LED behavior for exact progress indication.

  7. Completion: Once the cloning process is complete, the LED indicator will typically turn solid or change to a specific color (e.g., green). Power off the docking station before removing the drives.

Note: The cloning speed depends on the speed of your drives and the amount of data. Do not disconnect power or drives during the cloning process.

4. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the docking station. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.

  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

  • Handling: Avoid dropping or subjecting the device to strong impacts. Do not attempt to disassemble the unit, as this will void the warranty.

  • Ventilation: Ensure proper ventilation around the docking station during operation to prevent overheating, especially during long cloning processes.

5. Troubleshooting
