Safety Information

Setup (Installation)
The Waterdrop WHF21-FG system is designed for DIY installation with pre-installed parts, including filters and a mounting bracket, to facilitate quicker setup. A wrench is provided for ease of installation and filter replacement.
Pre-Installation Steps:
- Choose a Location: Select a suitable location for installation, preferably at the main water inlet to your house, after the water meter and before the water heater. Ensure the location is protected from freezing temperatures and direct sunlight.
- Turn Off Water Supply: Locate your main water shut-off valve and turn off the water supply to your house.
- Drain Water Lines: Open a faucet at the lowest point in your house to drain water from the pipes and relieve pressure.
- Prepare Plumbing: Cut into your main water line at the chosen installation point. The system is equipped with 1-inch NPT inlet and outlet ports. Ensure you have the correct plumbing fittings (not included) to connect to your existing pipes.
Mounting and Connection:
- Mount the System: Use the provided expansion screws to securely mount the filter system to a sturdy wall or support structure. Ensure the system is level.
- Connect Inlet/Outlet: Connect your main water line to the system's inlet and outlet ports. It is crucial to wrap PTFE (Teflon) tape properly around the male pipe threads. For optimal sealing, apply 10-12 wraps of PTFE tape or use a suitable pipe thread paste. Avoid over-tightening connections, especially with plastic threads, to prevent damage.
- Check for Leaks: Slowly turn on the main water supply. Carefully inspect all connections for any leaks. If leaks occur, turn off the water, relieve pressure, and re-tighten or re-seal the connections as needed.

Operating Instructions
After successful installation and leak checks, the system is ready for operation. It provides up to 15 gallons per minute (GPM) flow rate, maintaining stable water pressure for simultaneous use of multiple water fixtures.
Initial Flushing:
Before using the filtered water for consumption, it is recommended to flush the system for at least 10-15 minutes. This helps to remove any carbon fines or air from the new filters. Open a cold water faucet at the lowest point in your house and let the water run until it appears clear and free of air bubbles.
NFC Tap Feature:
The system includes an NFC tap feature for quick convenience. By tapping your compatible smartphone to the NFC tag on the system, you can access installation videos, check filter lifespan, and find answers to frequently asked questions.

Maintenance
Filter Replacement:
Both filters in this whole house water filter system have a lifespan of up to 6 months or 50,000 gallons, whichever comes first. Regular replacement ensures optimal filtration performance and helps maintain water quality. The system uses two types of filters:
- WD-WF10F: Iron & Manganese Reducing Filter
- WD-W88A: Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) Filter
To replace filters:
- Turn off the main water supply to the system.
- Relieve pressure by pressing the red pressure release button on top of each housing.
- Use the provided wrench to unscrew the filter housings.
- Remove the old filter cartridges and dispose of them properly.
- Clean the filter housings with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Inspect the O-rings for any damage and apply food-grade silicone grease if needed to ensure a proper seal.
- Insert new filter cartridges into their respective housings. Ensure they are seated correctly.
- Screw the housings back onto the system hand-tight, then use the wrench for a final quarter-turn to ensure a snug fit. Do not overtighten.
- Slowly turn on the main water supply and check for leaks. Flush the system as described in the Operating Instructions.
