3. Operating Your Watch

Your Timex watch is designed for everyday use. Here are some operational guidelines:

  • Wearing the Watch: Adjust the leather strap to a comfortable fit on your wrist. The buckle should secure the watch without being too tight or too loose.
  • Water Resistance: This watch is water resistant up to 5 bars (50 meters). This means it is suitable for short periods of recreational swimming, but not for diving or snorkeling. Avoid operating the crown while the watch is wet or submerged.

4. Maintenance and Care

Proper maintenance will help preserve the appearance and functionality of your Timex watch.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the watch case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth. For the leather strap, avoid excessive moisture and harsh chemicals. If it gets wet, allow it to air dry naturally.
  • Battery: The watch is powered by one Lithium-ion battery (included). When the watch stops running, it indicates the battery needs replacement. Battery replacement should ideally be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure water resistance is maintained.
  • Storage: When not in use, store your watch in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Avoid Impacts: While durable, avoid dropping the watch or subjecting it to strong impacts, which can damage the internal mechanism or exterior.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your watch, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Watch Not Running:
    • Check if the crown is fully pushed in to position 0.
    • The battery may be depleted. Refer to the "Maintenance and Care" section for battery replacement.
  • Date/Day Not Changing:
    • Ensure the time is set correctly, especially the AM/PM cycle. The date typically changes around midnight.
    • Manually adjust the date and day as described in the "Setup and Initial Operation" section.
  • Condensation Inside Crystal:
    • This may indicate a loss of water resistance. Avoid further contact with water and seek professional service immediately.
