6. Operating the Camera
6.1 Power On/Off
Once connected to a 5V power source, the camera will power on automatically. The indicator light will illuminate to show its status.
6.2 Starting/Stopping Recording
To start recording, short press the main button on the camera. The indicator light will change (e.g., start flashing) to confirm recording has begun. To stop recording, short press the button again. The indicator light will return to its standby state.
The camera is designed to save video files properly even if power is unexpectedly disconnected during recording, preventing data corruption.
7. Gyroflow Stabilization
The RunCam Thumb features a built-in gyroscope that records motion data alongside your video footage. This data can be used with Gyroflow, a free and open-source video stabilization software, to achieve incredibly smooth and professional-looking footage in post-production.
To utilize Gyroflow, record your video as usual. After transferring the files to your computer, import them into the Gyroflow application. The software will use the embedded gyro data to stabilize the video, compensating for shakes and vibrations from your drone or vehicle.
