4. Setup

4.1 Physical Setup

  4. Connect the USB Cable: Insert one end of the supplied USB 3.0 cable into the USB port on the back of the DC136 base.

  6. Connect to Computer: Connect the other end of the USB cable to an available USB 3.0 port on your computer. The device is plug-and-play and typically does not require additional drivers.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

The DC136 powers on automatically when connected to a computer via USB. Disconnect the USB cable to power off the device.

  • Gooseneck Adjustment: The flexible gooseneck allows you to position the camera head to capture documents, objects, or even use it as a webcam.
  • Auto-Focus: The camera features hands-free auto-focus. For optimal clarity, ensure the object is within the camera's focal range.

5.3 Using with Software

The DC136 is compatible with most video conferencing software, interactive whiteboards, and presentation applications that support USB cameras. Select "Lumens DC136" as your video input device within the software settings.

  • Image Rotation: Use software controls to rotate the image 0°, 180°, flip, or mirror as needed.
  • Zoom: Utilize the 16x digital zoom via software for closer inspection of details.
  • Video/Audio Recording: If supported by your software, you can record video and audio using the built-in microphone.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Lens: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses to gently wipe the camera lens. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Cleaning the Body: Wipe the camera body with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the camera in a clean, dry place, preferably in its original packaging or a protective case.
