1. Introduction

The AirTurn BT500S-4 is an advanced Bluetooth pedal designed for hands-free control of various applications on your tablet, phone, or computer. The free AirTurn Manager app provides extensive customization options, including setting keystrokes, macros, mouse clicks, MIDI commands, and adjusting features like Auto-Repeat, Idle Time, Low Power or Fast Response Mode, and Debounce.

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Device

Before initial use, fully charge your AirTurn BT500S-4 pedal. Connect the provided USB cable to the charging port on the pedal and plug the other end into a standard USB power adapter or a computer's USB port. The charging indicator light will show the charging status. A full charge provides over 200 hours of continuous use.

3.2 Bluetooth Pairing

The AirTurn BT500S-4 connects wirelessly via Bluetooth 5. To pair your device:

1. Ensure the pedal is charged and powered on.
2. On your tablet, phone, or computer, navigate to the Bluetooth settings.
3. Search for available devices. The AirTurn BT500S-4 will appear in the list.
4. Select the AirTurn BT500S-4 to initiate pairing.
5. Once connected, the pedal's indicator light will confirm the successful pairing.

The BT500S series is compatible with iOS, Mac, PC, and Android systems.

4. Operating the Device

4.1 Basic Operation

The AirTurn BT500S-4 operates by sending commands to your connected device when its switches are pressed. The default functions typically include page turning (forward/backward) or scrolling. Refer to your specific application's settings for pedal compatibility and configuration.

4.2 Customization with AirTurn Manager

For advanced customization, download the free AirTurn Manager app. This application allows you to:

• Assign custom keystrokes, macros, or mouse clicks to each switch.
• Send MIDI commands for controlling digital audio workstations (DAWs) and other music software.
• Adjust pedal behavior, including Auto-Repeat, Idle Time, Low Power or Fast Response Mode.
• Configure switch types (Momentary, Latching, Pulse, Command).

The BT500S series also includes models with analog ports (e.g., BT500S-6) for use with expression pedals, allowing for variable controls such as volume, wah, or scroll speed, programmable via the AirTurn Manager.

5.1 Battery Care

The AirTurn BT500S-4 uses a rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery. To maximize battery life:

• Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
• Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
• Recharge the battery regularly, even if not completely depleted.

5.2 Cleaning and Durability

The pedal features a molded case made from a nearly indestructible polymer blend and quiet steel switches, designed for roadworthy durability. To clean, wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
