Model: 7903510

1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your BRESSER MeteoChamp Weather Centre Base Station (Model 7903510). This unit serves as an additional or replacement display console for your existing BRESSER MeteoChamp HD Wi-Fi Weather Centre (Model 7003510). It allows you to view extensive weather data, including temperature, humidity, air pressure, wind speed/direction, UV index, and light intensity, on its large 7-inch HD TFT color display.

Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper functionality and to prevent damage. Keep this manual for future reference.

2. Safety Instructions

Observe the following safety precautions to ensure safe operation and to prolong the life of your device:

  • Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high humidity.
  • Avoid placing the device near heat sources such as radiators, stoves, or other heat-producing appliances.
  • Do not immerse the device in water or other liquids.
  • Use only the specified power adapter (if applicable) and battery type (CR2032 backup battery).
  • Keep the device out of reach of children and pets.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the device. This will void the warranty.
  • Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Dispose of batteries and electronic waste responsibly according to local regulations.

5. Setup

5.1 Powering the Device

  1. Unpack the base station and place it on a stable, flat surface using its integrated stand.
  2. Connect the power adapter (not included, typically comes with the main weather station unit) to the DC input port on the back of the base station.
  3. Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet. The display should illuminate.
  4. Install the CR2032 backup battery (1 required, not included) into the battery compartment. This battery is primarily for retaining time and date settings during brief power outages. Note that stored weather data may be lost if power is disconnected without a USB drive for logging.

5.2 Initial Configuration and Sensor Connection

Upon first power-up, the base station will guide you through initial setup steps.

  1. Language Selection: Follow the on-screen prompts to select your preferred language.
  2. Time and Date Setting: The device can synchronize time and date via Wi-Fi. Ensure your Wi-Fi connection is established for automatic updates.
  3. Wi-Fi Connection: Navigate to the Wi-Fi settings menu on the display. Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password. A stable Wi-Fi connection is crucial for receiving online weather forecasts and publishing data.
  4. Sensor Pairing: The base station automatically attempts to connect with compatible BRESSER outdoor sensors (e.g., for temperature, humidity, wind, rain, UV). Ensure your sensors are powered on and within range. The base station can receive data from up to 7 radio sensors. Refer to your main weather station manual or sensor-specific manuals for pairing instructions if automatic connection does not occur.
  5. Unit Settings: Adjust units for temperature (°C/°F), wind speed (km/h, mph, m/s, knots, Beaufort), pressure (hPa, inHg, mmHg), and rainfall (mm, inch) as desired.

6. Operating the Device

6.1 Display Modes

The MeteoChamp base station offers various display modes to present weather data. You can typically switch between these modes using dedicated buttons on the device or through the on-screen menu. Each mode highlights different aspects of the weather data, such as current conditions, historical graphs, or detailed sensor readings.

6.2 Weather Data Interpretation

The display shows a wide range of data:

  • Outdoor/Indoor Temperature & Humidity: Current readings from connected sensors.
  • Wind Speed & Direction: Real-time wind data, often with a graphical compass.
  • Air Pressure: Current atmospheric pressure and historical trends.
  • UV Index & Light Intensity: Readings from compatible sensors.
  • Rainfall: Daily, weekly, or monthly rainfall accumulation.
  • Weather Forecast: Graphical forecast based on barometric pressure changes and online data (requires Wi-Fi).
  • "Feels Like" Temperature: Calculated temperature accounting for wind chill and humidity.

6.3 Alarm Function

The base station includes an alarm clock function with an integrated frost alarm.

  • Setting Alarm: Access the alarm settings through the menu to set your desired wake-up time.
  • Frost Alarm: This feature alerts you when temperatures drop to a pre-set level, typically near freezing, to warn of potential frost conditions.
  • Snooze Function: When the alarm sounds, press the snooze button (usually a prominent button on the top or front) to temporarily silence the alarm for a few minutes.

6.4 Data Logging and Export

The device supports historical data logging.

  • USB Drive: Insert a USB drive (not included) into the designated port to record historical weather data.
  • Data Export: Recorded data can be exported from the USB drive to a computer for further analysis. Refer to the on-screen menu for export options and file formats.
  • Data Retention: Be aware that without a connected USB drive, the device's internal memory for historical data may be limited, and data might be lost upon power disconnection (as the CR2032 battery primarily backs up time/date).

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

To maintain the appearance and functionality of your base station:

  • Wipe the display and casing with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • For stubborn marks, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Do not use chemical cleaners, abrasives, or solvents, as these can damage the surface.
  • Ensure no liquid enters the device openings.

7.2 Battery Replacement

The base station uses one CR2032 button cell battery for backup purposes.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the unit.
  2. Open the compartment cover.
  3. Remove the old CR2032 battery and dispose of it properly.
  4. Insert a new CR2032 battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-).
  5. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: The CR2032 battery is a backup for time and date settings. The main power for the display comes from the AC adapter.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your BRESSER MeteoChamp Base Station, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Display is blank or not powering on.No power connection; faulty power adapter.Ensure the power adapter is securely plugged into the base station and a working electrical outlet. Test the outlet with another device.
No sensor data displayed (e.g., outdoor temperature).Sensors not paired; sensors out of range; sensor batteries low.
  • Ensure outdoor sensors are powered on and within the effective transmission range.
  • Check and replace batteries in the outdoor sensors if necessary.
  • Initiate sensor pairing mode on the base station (refer to the main weather station manual for specific steps).
Wi-Fi connection issues.Incorrect password; out of router range; network interference.
  • Double-check the Wi-Fi password.
  • Move the base station closer to your Wi-Fi router.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router.
  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz, as some devices may not support 5GHz.
Time/Date resets after power disconnection.CR2032 backup battery is missing or depleted.Install or replace the CR2032 backup battery. Note that this battery primarily retains time/date, not historical weather data.
Inaccurate weather readings.Sensor placement issues; sensor malfunction.
  • Ensure outdoor sensors are placed in appropriate locations (e.g., away from direct sunlight for temperature, unobstructed for wind).
  • Compare readings with other reliable sources. If discrepancies persist, the sensor may require replacement.

If the problem persists after trying these solutions, please contact BRESSER Customer Support.
