4. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly install the drum rack clamp, L-rod, and trigger cable:
4.1 Attaching the Drum Rack Clamp
- Identify a suitable horizontal or vertical bar on your compatible Alesis drum rack where you wish to mount an additional pad or cymbal.
- Loosen the wing nut on the drum rack clamp until the clamp opening is wide enough to fit over the rack tube.
- Position the clamp onto the desired rack tube.
- Tighten the wing nut securely until the clamp is firmly attached to the rack and does not rotate or slide. Do not overtighten.

4.2 Inserting the L-Rod
- Locate the L-rod receiver on the drum rack clamp.
- Insert the black tip (3/4 inch / 19mm diameter) of the Alesis L-Rod into the L-rod receiver on the clamp.
- Tighten the wing nut on the clamp that secures the L-rod until it is held firmly in place.
- Mount your drum pad or cymbal onto the steel tip (3/8 inch / 9.5mm diameter) of the L-rod. Adjust the angle and position as needed, then secure the pad/cymbal according to its own instructions.
4.3 Connecting the Trigger Cable
- Take the Silverline Audio 10ft Connection Cable. This is a TRS 1/4" jack cable.
- Plug one end of the cable into the trigger input jack of the newly mounted drum pad or cymbal.
- Plug the other end of the cable into an available trigger input on your Alesis drum module. Ensure the connection is secure at both ends.

5. Operating
Once installed, the clamp and L-rod provide a stable mounting point for your electronic drum pad or cymbal. The Silverline Audio 10ft Connection Cable transmits the trigger signal from your pad/cymbal to your Alesis drum module. Ensure your drum module is powered on and configured to recognize the new input for the connected pad/cymbal.
6. Maintenance
These components require minimal maintenance:
- Cleaning: Wipe down the clamp, L-rod, and cable with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Inspection: Periodically check all connections and wing nuts to ensure they remain tight and secure. Loose components can lead to instability or damage.
- Storage: When not in use, store the components in a dry environment away from extreme temperatures.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Pad/Cymbal Not Triggering:
- Ensure both ends of the Silverline Audio 10ft Connection Cable are fully inserted into the pad/cymbal and the drum module.
- Verify that the drum module's input settings are correctly configured for the connected pad/cymbal.
- Test the cable with another known working pad/input, or test the pad/input with another known working cable, to isolate the faulty component.
- Clamp is Loose:
- Ensure the clamp is positioned on a compatible Alesis drum rack tube.
- Tighten the wing nut on the clamp firmly. If it continues to slip, ensure the rack tube is clean and free of lubricants.
- L-Rod is Loose:
- Ensure the L-rod is fully inserted into the clamp's receiver.
- Tighten the L-rod securing wing nut on the clamp.
