4. Setup Guide

4.1. Initial Connection

  1. Connect to Power: Plug the power adapter into the DC Jack on the rear of the Mini PC, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
  2. Connect to Display: Connect your monitor(s) to the Mini PC using HDMI, DisplayPort, or the full-featured Type-C port.
  3. Connect Peripherals: Connect your keyboard, mouse, and other USB devices to the available USB ports.
  4. Network Connection: For a wired connection, connect an Ethernet cable to one of the RJ45 LAN ports. For wireless, ensure your WiFi network is available.
  5. Power On: Press the power button on the front of the Mini PC.

4.2. Operating System Setup

The CHUWI LarkBox X comes with Windows 11 Home pre-installed. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup, including language selection, network configuration, and user account creation. The device also supports Linux and Ubuntu operating systems.

5. Operating Your Mini PC

5.1. Daily Use

The Intel N150 processor provides sufficient power for everyday computing tasks such as web browsing, document editing, and multimedia consumption. The 12GB LPDDR5 RAM ensures smooth multitasking across multiple applications.

5.2. Multi-Display Configuration

The LarkBox X supports simultaneous output to up to three 4K displays via its HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort, and full-featured Type-C ports. This allows for expanded workspaces and enhanced productivity.

5.3. Connectivity

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cooling System

The LarkBox X features a built-in fan and 8mm heat pipes to ensure efficient heat dissipation, preventing overheating during multitasking and prolonged use. Ensure proper airflow around the device.

6.2. Storage and Memory Upgrades

The Mini PC comes with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and a 512GB M.2 2280 SATA3 SSD. The SSD can be upgraded up to 2TB. To access the RAM and SSD slots for upgrades, carefully remove the bottom panel of the device by unscrewing the retaining screws.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1. Common Issues

  • No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the Mini PC and a working power outlet.
  • No Display: Verify that the display cables (HDMI, DisplayPort, Type-C) are correctly connected to both the Mini PC and the monitor. Try a different port or cable if necessary.
  • Network Connectivity Issues: For wired connections, check the Ethernet cable and router. For WiFi, ensure the device is connected to the correct network and the signal is strong.
  • Slow Performance: Close unnecessary applications. Check for background processes. Consider upgrading RAM or SSD if performance remains consistently low.

7.2. CMOS Reset

If you encounter persistent boot issues or system instability, a CMOS reset may resolve the problem. Refer to the detailed instructions in the included User Manual for the location and procedure of the CMOS reset button.
