Setup

1. Compatibility Check

Before installation, ensure your pressure washer engine is compatible with this pump. This pump is designed for 3/4-inch horizontal shaft gas engines (180-225cc, 6.0HP-8.0HP) and delivers 2600-3300 PSI at 2.5 GPM. It will NOT fit 7/8-inch shaft engines or vertical shaft engines.

2. Installation Steps

  1. Prepare the Engine: Ensure the pressure washer engine is off and cooled. Disconnect the spark plug wire.
  2. Remove Old Pump: Carefully unbolt and remove the old pump from the engine. Clean any debris from the engine shaft and mounting area.
  3. Install New Key: Insert the provided shaft key into the keyway on the engine shaft.
  4. Mount the Pump: Align the new pump with the engine shaft, ensuring the key slides into the pump's keyway. Apply anti-seize to the inside of the pump for easier installation. Slide the pump onto the shaft until it is flush with the engine mounting surface.
  5. Secure the Pump: Use the provided hardened bolts and washers to securely fasten the pump to the engine. Tighten bolts evenly.
  6. Connect Hoses: Connect your garden hose to the 3/4" NH inlet and your pressure washer hose to the M22x1.5-14mm outlet. Ensure all connections are tight.

Operating Instructions

1. Starting the Pressure Washer

This pump features an easy start mechanism, allowing for quick cold starts without the need for pressure relief before starting the engine. Simply follow your pressure washer engine's starting procedure.

2. Using Nozzle Tips

The pump comes with three specialized nozzle tips (0°, 25°, and soap) for various cleaning tasks. Select the appropriate nozzle for your application:

  • 0° (Red): For intense spot cleaning and hard-to-reach areas. Use with caution due to high pressure.
  • 25° (Green): For general cleaning of most surfaces. Provides a wider spray pattern.
  • Soap (Black): For applying detergents. Operates at low pressure to draw cleaning solutions.

3. Chemical Injection

The pump includes a chemical injection feature for applying cleaning solutions. Attach the soap nozzle and ensure your detergent siphon tube is properly placed in the cleaning solution container. The pump will draw detergent at low pressure.

4. Adjustable Unloader

The adjustable unloader allows for pressure control. Turn the knob to increase or decrease the pressure output as needed for different cleaning tasks.

Maintenance

1. Oil Maintenance

This pump features a maintenance-free crankcase with pre-filled 85W90 gear oil. No oil changes are required for the lifetime of the pump, saving you time and effort.

2. Thermal Relief Valve

The pump is equipped with a thermal relief valve to prevent overheating. If the water temperature inside the pump becomes too high (e.g., when the trigger is not engaged for an extended period), the valve will release a small amount of hot water to draw in cooler water, protecting the pump from damage.

3. Filter Cleaning

Regularly check and clean the high-density filter at the water inlet to prevent impurities from entering the pump, which can reduce performance and lifespan.

4. Storage

Before storing the pressure washer for extended periods, especially in freezing temperatures, ensure the pump is completely drained of water or treated with pump protector to prevent damage from freezing.
