Before First Use

- Press the "Hour" button to set the hour. The display will show "AM" or "PM".
- Press the "Minute" button to set the minutes.
- Hold the buttons down to scroll quickly, or press and release to advance one digit at a time.
Operating Instructions
Making Coffee
- Fill Water Reservoir: Open the reservoir lid and fill with cold, fresh water to the desired level, indicated by the cup markings. Do not exceed the 14-cup line.
- Insert Filter: Place a standard basket-style paper filter or the permanent filter (if included) into the filter basket.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Add the desired amount of ground coffee. A general guideline is 1 tablespoon of ground coffee per cup, but adjust to your taste.
- Position Carafe: Ensure the glass carafe with its lid is securely placed on the heating plate.
- Start Brewing: Press the "Brew" button. The indicator light will illuminate, and the brewing cycle will begin.
- Serve: Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will beep, and the heating plate will keep the coffee warm. The unit will automatically shut off after a set period (typically 0-4 hours, adjustable).
Programming Auto-On
The programmable feature allows you to set the coffee maker to start brewing at a specific time.
- Prepare Coffee Maker: Follow steps 1-4 from "Making Coffee" above.
- Set Program Time:
- Press the "Program" button. The display will flash.
- Use the "Hour" and "Minute" buttons to set the desired brew time.
- Press the "Program" button again to confirm the setting. The program indicator light will illuminate.
- The coffee maker will automatically start brewing at the set time.
Cleaning Cycle
Regular descaling is important for optimal performance and longevity of your coffee maker.
- Prepare Solution: Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 water.
- Start Clean Cycle: Press the "Clean" button. The indicator light will illuminate.
- Complete Cycle: The coffee maker will run a special cleaning cycle. Once complete, the "Clean" light will turn off.
- Rinse: Run 2-3 cycles with fresh, clean water to flush out any remaining vinegar solution.
Maintenance and Cleaning
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, wash the carafe, carafe lid, and filter basket in warm, soapy water. These parts are also top-rack dishwasher safe.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Descaling: Perform the "Cleaning Cycle" (as described above) every 1-3 months, depending on water hardness and frequency of use, to remove mineral deposits.
- Storage: Ensure the coffee maker is clean and dry before storing. Store in a cool, dry place.
