Setup

Follow these steps to prepare your game for play:

1. Place the gameboard on a flat, stable surface where all players can easily reach it.
2. Place the Owl figure in the designated circular stump space at the center of the gameboard.
3. Each player selects one Mouse Mover and places it on the starting space, indicated by a large mouse icon.
4. Shuffle the 20 Forest Tokens thoroughly and place them face down in a single pile near the gameboard.
5. Shuffle the 20 Goal Cards. Deal 5 cards face up to each player. These cards show the specific Forest Tokens each player needs to collect to win.

Operating (How to Play)

The objective of Peek-A-Hoot is to be the first player to collect all 5 of your required Forest Tokens and successfully return your Mouse Mover to the starting space.

Game Turn Sequence

1. On your turn, move your Mouse Mover along the path on the gameboard. You can move to any adjacent space, following the path indicated.
2. If you land on a space with a Forest Token, and that token matches one of your face-up Goal Cards, you may collect that token. Place the collected token on its corresponding Goal Card.
3. If you land on a stump space, you must gently press down on the Owl's head.
• If the Owl shows a happy face, you may continue your turn. You can move again towards collecting another token or returning to the starting space.
• If the Owl shows a grumpy face, your turn immediately ends.
4. The "Fast Track" spaces allow you to move quickly across the board, potentially avoiding the Owl's stump spaces.

Winning the Game

The first player to collect all 5 of their required Forest Tokens and successfully return their Mouse Mover to the starting space wins the game.

Owl Mechanism Sticks:

Gently press the owl's head a few times to loosen the mechanism. Check for any small foreign objects that might be lodged in the base or around the pressing mechanism.
