Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: Replace the AA battery annually or when the clock begins to lose time. It is recommended to use alkaline batteries. Avoid using rechargeable batteries.
  • Handling Hands: The clock hands are made of aluminum and can bend if excessive pressure is applied. Handle them gently during installation and any subsequent adjustments.
  • Cleaning: Clean the clock mechanism and hands with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.

Troubleshooting

  • Clock Not Moving:
    • Ensure a fresh AA battery is correctly inserted.
    • Check if the clock hands are bent or touching each other, the clock face, or the clock cover. Adjust them carefully to ensure free movement.
    • Verify that the hex nut is not overtightened, which could impede the mechanism.
  • Clock Losing/Gaining Time:
    • Replace the battery with a new, high-quality alkaline AA battery.
    • Ensure the mechanism is securely mounted and not experiencing any external interference.
  • Loud Ticking Noise:
    • This mechanism is designed for silent sweep movement. If a ticking noise is heard, check for any obstructions or loose components within the mechanism or hands.

Important Safety Information

  • Keep small parts, such as nuts and washers, out of reach of children to prevent choking hazards.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble the clock mechanism beyond the intended installation steps.
