4. Setup and Wiring

Proper wiring is crucial for the safe and correct operation of the STC-1000. Refer to the wiring diagram below and ensure all connections are secure and insulated.

Wiring Instructions:

  1. Power Supply (Terminals 1 & 2): Connect your 110-220VAC power source to terminals 1 and 2.
  2. Temperature Sensor (Terminals 3 & 4): Connect the temperature sensor to terminals 3 and 4. Ensure the sensor lead is kept a proper distance from power wires to avoid interference.
  3. Heating Output (Terminals 5 & 6): Connect your heating device (e.g., heater, heat lamp) to terminals 5 and 6. This output is rated for 10A.
  4. Cooling Output (Terminals 7 & 8): Connect your cooling device (e.g., fan, refrigerator compressor) to terminals 7 and 8. This output is also rated for 10A.

Important Safety Note:

  • Strictly distinguish between the interfaces for relay, sensor, and power.
  • Ensure proper connection of the sensor and power.
  • Keep the sensor down-lead and power wire separated to maintain proper distance and prevent interference.

5. Operation

The STC-1000 features a simple interface for setting desired temperatures and parameters.

Front Panel Controls:

  • Power Button (): Turns the device on/off.
  • Set Button (S): Enters parameter setting mode.
  • Up Arrow (): Increases values or navigates menus.
  • Down Arrow (): Decreases values or navigates menus.

Setting the Target Temperature:

  1. Press the Set (S) button once. The current set temperature will flash on the display.
  2. Use the Up () or Down () arrow buttons to adjust the desired temperature.
  3. Press the Set (S) button again to confirm and save the new setting, or wait a few seconds for it to save automatically.

Advanced Parameter Settings:

To access advanced parameters (e.g., heating/cooling differential, compressor delay, temperature calibration):

  1. Press and hold the Set (S) button for approximately 3 seconds. The display will show 'F1'.
  2. Use the Up () or Down () buttons to cycle through parameters (F1, F2, F3, F4).
  3. To view/edit a parameter's value, press the Set (S) button when the desired parameter (e.g., F1) is displayed.
  4. Use the Up () or Down () buttons to adjust the value.
  5. Press the Set (S) button to save the change and return to the parameter list.
  6. To exit the advanced settings, press the Power () button or wait for a few seconds of inactivity.

Common Parameters:

  • F1: Temperature Set Point (default: 10°C)
  • F2: Differential Set (Hysteresis) (default: 0.5°C) - The difference between the set temperature and the temperature at which the heating/cooling turns off.
  • F3: Compressor Delay Time (default: 3 minutes) - Time delay before the compressor starts after being turned off.
  • F4: Temperature Calibration (default: 0°C) - Adjusts the temperature reading to match a known accurate thermometer.

6. Maintenance

The Tiiyee STC-1000 is designed for low maintenance. Follow these guidelines to ensure its longevity:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Sensor Care: Ensure the temperature sensor is clean and free from debris. Avoid bending or damaging the sensor cable.
  • Environmental Conditions: Operate the controller within its specified temperature and humidity ranges. Avoid direct exposure to water or extreme temperatures.
  • Connection Check: Periodically check all wiring connections to ensure they remain secure.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your STC-1000, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Display shows 'HHH' or 'LLL'Temperature sensor error (open circuit or short circuit) or temperature exceeds range.Check sensor connection. Replace sensor if damaged. Ensure temperature is within -50°C to 99°C.
Display shows 'EEE'Internal sensor error or memory fault.Restart the controller. If the error persists, contact support.
Controller not switching heating/coolingIncorrect wiring, set temperature too close to current temperature, or compressor delay active.Verify wiring. Adjust differential (F2). Wait for compressor delay (F3) to expire.
Inaccurate temperature readingSensor placement, calibration error, or sensor damage.Relocate sensor away from heat sources/sinks. Use F4 to calibrate. Check sensor for damage.
No power to the unitNo power supply, incorrect wiring, or faulty unit.Check power source and connections to terminals 1 & 2. Ensure power button is pressed.
