1. Product Overview

The Graywind Motorized Solar Shades are designed to provide light filtering, UV protection, and privacy while integrating seamlessly into your smart home. These shades feature a 1% openness fabric, offering 99% UV protection while maintaining exterior visibility. They are fireproof, waterproof, and dust-free, making them suitable for various indoor environments such as living rooms, patio sliding doors, offices, and more. The cordless design ensures safety for children and pets, and the materials are Rohs certified for environmental friendliness.

Key features include:

• Functional Design: 1% openness, 99% UV protection, fireproof, waterproof, dust-free, and cordless.
• 15-Channel Timing Remote: Allows for individual and group control of up to 15 smart shades, including setting favorite positions and scheduling automatic operations.
• Bluetooth Motor Solution: Direct control via the Graywind app within Bluetooth range (approx. 99ft/30m) for percentage control, limit setting, and battery status display. A 2.4GHz BLE hub is available for advanced features like groups, timing schedules, and Alexa/Google control.
• Zigbee Motor Solution: Direct compatibility with Echo Plus (2nd Gen), Echo Show (2nd Gen), Echo Studio, Echo Show 10 (3rd Gen), and Echo (4th Gen) without a hub. Enables smart control via app and voice commands (e.g., group and percentage control). A 2.4GHz Zigbee hub can connect with other Alexa models and Google.

2. Setup and Installation

2.1 Measuring Your Windows

Accurate measurements are crucial for a perfect fit. Please follow these guidelines carefully:

• Inside Mount: Measure the exact width and height of the window opening at three different points (top, middle, bottom for width; left, middle, right for height). Use the smallest measurement for your order. Ensure a minimum window depth of 1.87 inches (4.7 cm) for the valance to fit properly. If the depth is less than 2.75 inches, the valance will extend beyond the window frame.
• Outside Mount: Measure the desired width and height you want the shade to cover. We recommend adding 1 to 6 inches to the window width and height for optimal coverage and light blocking.

2.2 Installation Process

3. Operating Your Shades

3.1 Remote Control

The included 15-channel timing remote allows for convenient control of your shades. You can operate individual shades, group multiple shades together, set a favorite intermediate position, and program up to 20 date-time groups for automatic operation. The remote can be handheld or wall-mounted.

3.2 Smart Home Integration (Alexa & Google)

Depending on your motor type (Bluetooth or Zigbee), your shades can integrate with smart home systems:

• Bluetooth Motor: Works directly with the Graywind app via Bluetooth. For Alexa and Google control, a 2.4GHz BLE hub is required to create groups, set timing schedules, and other routines.
• Zigbee Motor: Works directly with compatible Alexa devices (Echo Plus 2nd Gen, Echo Show 2nd Gen, Echo Studio, Echo Show 10 3rd Gen, Echo 4th Gen) without an additional hub. For other Alexa models and Google, a 2.4GHz Zigbee hub is available.

Once connected, you can use voice commands for control, such as:

• "Alexa, open the blind."
• "Alexa, close the blind."
• "Alexa, open the blind to 50%."

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning Instructions

To maintain the appearance and longevity of your Graywind shades, follow these cleaning recommendations:

• Spot Clean Only: For general cleaning, spot clean the fabric as needed.
• Dust Removal: Gently remove dust using a feather duster or by softly gliding a handheld vacuum over the extended blind.
• Partial Cleaning: For stubborn spots, use a well-wrung cloth or sponge dipped in a solution of mild dish-washing detergent and lukewarm water. Avoid harsh detergents.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Remote Pairing and Limit Setting

If you encounter issues with remote control or limit settings, follow these steps:

• Ensure Full Charge: Make sure the blind is fully charged. A low battery can cause the motor to beep without jogging.
• Program Button Usage: When pressing the program button on the blind, observe the number of motor jogs and release after the desired count:
  • 1-jog: Pair with remote.
  • 3-jogs: Toggle direction (if the up arrow makes the shade go down).
  • 4-jogs: Reset the blind (clears all settings).
• Resetting: Hold the program button until it jogs 4 times, then release. It will beep 4 times to confirm.
• Changing Direction: If the fabric rolls incorrectly, hold the program button until it jogs 3 times, then release. It will beep 3 times to confirm.
• Pairing Remote: Hold the program button until it jogs once, then release. Press 'Set' on the remote (blind beeps once). Press 'Set' again (blind beeps once). Press 'Up' on the remote (blind beeps 6 times to confirm).
• Setting Limits: Press 'Set', then 'Up', then 'Set' on the remote. After each press, the blind will jog/beep. After the second 'Set', it will beep 4 times. Use the up/down/stop buttons to position the blind at the desired upper limit. Hold 'Stop' until it beeps 4 times. Repeat for the lower limit.
